My suggestion would be to create a new policy with just the printer driver, install that onto a machine (preferably freshly imaged/built) and then manually map the printer. Once you have done that, configure and test the printer to ensure it is working and then use Composer on that same machine to add the printer to Jamf.
The jamfsoftware plist is present.
The printer was added via composer.
But I found the printer would not install via self service so I placed the package file into Jamf admin. The issue really is that we use paper cut for print management. We are set up with a nomad login and nomad software to avoid AD binding. So printers do not show up when just adding. I have found best use is advanced printer addition via windows print spooler. I am going to test with the actual dmg rather than the package file I pulled off the dmg to see if that helps at all.
I had something similar happen with another software like paper cut. The macOS will only look for Secure IPP printing port 443. We had to create a listener in the software just for the Mac Computers or any of the PPD files would say they were bad when we deployed them. I guessed at the time that the install was checking the status of the "printer" and it wasn't available so the driver wouldn't load with the saved settings.
We have Xerox printers and we deploy the drivers as a package, then we deploy a policy to "Map" the printer (you have to setup the printer in the Jamf Pro options). That policy is also available as self-service item for the cases we need to reset the printing system (right click on the printer in the system preferences, solves a lot of weird issues).

We receive many questions about the username and password on Xerox printers and multifunction devices (MFD). The username and password are required for system administrator access to the printer and the embedded web server (EWS). The username and password can help to safeguard your machine from unwanted settings changes.
The optimum scenario would be for one person to be the system administrator of the printer. That person would have the responsibility to make any setting or set-up changes to the device. We refer to that person as the system administrator (admin). The admin would be the person to change the username and password to protect the printer from unwanted changes. Once the username and/or password are changed from the defaults, which is highly recommended, the username and/or password cannot be reset without a call to support. The reset may require a visit from a technician depending on the model of the device.
The default password will be 1111 on most printers or the serial number of the machine. The password on most devices is case sensitive, so if your serial number contains letters, please use the correct case.
Due to security concerns and complexity, we cannot post or give instructions for resetting the username and /or password back to the defaults in the online support or on the customer support forums. The process is not for users. It potentially puts the user in an area of the machine where mistakes could cause the machine to become unusable if the correct steps are not followed. More importantly it removes a layer of security if everyone knows or learns how to reset the username and/or password.
It is important that if the username and/or password is changed remember it or note the new values somewhere away from the device. Consider having at least two people know this information in case one of them is not available and an issue comes up where the username and password would be required.

Parmetech is your one-stop shop for all major brands of printers. We offer responsive break/fix printer repair services as well as regularly scheduled maintenance to keep all brands of equipment running smoothly.
There are a few different types of Xerox printer repair services. The first is warranty service. If your printer is still under warranty, you can take it to a Xerox service center and they will repair it for free. The second type of service is a non-warranty service. This means that you will have to pay for the repair yourself. However, many companies offer discounts on non-warranty repairs, so it is still worth checking into.
The third type of service is an on-site service. This means that a technician will come to your office or home and repair your printer. On-site services are usually more expensive than other types of services, but they can be very convenient if you need your printer repaired quickly. Finally, there are mail-in services. With this type of service, you simply mail your printer to the company and they will repair it and then ship it back to you. Mail-in services can be very affordable, but they can also take a long time to get your printer back.

The Law School Information Technology department does not service Xerox printers. To contact a Xerox technician, visit the Xerox portal and login with your Xerox account credentials. Click Service & Supplies, then Break-Fix. Search for your device, and fill out and send a new service ticket. A Xerox technician will contact you to arrange a time to look at your machine.
If you have taken over managing a device from someone else, Xerox will need to input your information into their system so supplies will be delivered to you, and you will be contacted on any service calls/tickets placed for the machine. Please contact LawIT to do this switch so we can make a note of this change.
