Statistics Canada is currently recruiting university graduates
(graduating in 1999) to work as Information System Specialists. They
will be filling 100 positions. Statistics Canada offers a wide range of
assignments to recruits including database administration, network
administration and operating system support.

Application forms should be available from the Career Counselling
office (Julian Blackburn) by September 14. Ask for the 'Public Service
Commission of Canada - Post-Secondary Information kit'. Alternatively
check our web site at www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/jobs.htm and apply online.
The main requirement for these positions is a completed university
degree with at least 5 full courses (30 credits) in computer science. It
is possible to fulfill this requirement without a Computer Science
degree.

For those of you who will be in the Toronto area on September 23,
Statistics Canada will be holding an information session at 4:30 pm. at
the University of Toronto. (The room has yet to be determined)

APPLICATION DEADLINE is OCT 5, 1998, so don't delay. Please feel free
to contact me if you have any questions concerning either application
requirements or career opportunities offered at Statistics Canada.

Thank you,
Lindsay Robson
