Programmer/Statistician Position

The BC Cancer Agency has an immediate opportunity for a
Programmer/Statistician in the Cancer Control Research Program.

In this dual role, you will perform system analysis/programming from
feasibility studies/user requirements through cost estimating
(including associated staffing requirements). As a statistician, you
will participate in related consultations, discuss needs, suggest
methods and perform statistical analyses. You will be a member of the
team responsible for developing and ensuring adherence to capital and
operating budget.

Your qualifications include: - a Bachelor's degree in Statistics,
Computer Science, or related scientific discipline - 2 years' experience
in statistical analysis of biomedical data and in the application of
computer languages including C, Fortran and Visual Basic - 2 years'
experience with statistical software packages and relational database
systems including Splus, Egret, SPSS, SAS, MS Access and Fax Pro -
expertise and major interest in scientific programming - knowledge of
epidemiologic methods - familiarity with SUN micro-computer and
PC-based computer systems.

In accordance with Canadian Immigration and Employment Requirements,
preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
