NOTE: This is a two year temporary assignment/contract ending August 31,
2002.
No relocation or temporary living expenses are available.

DUTIES:
As a member of Ontario Parks' Species at Risk Team you will provide
expertise necessary to deliver aspects of the communications component of
the Species at Risk Project; and enable the public and MNR staff to
understand Ontario's roles and actions in fulfilling national and provincial
commitments to protect Species at Risk and their habitats.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Excellent/advanced communications skills (oral, writing, and
editing) - Samples of written work required.
* Public relations skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills (e.g., tact and discretion) with
staff, media and public.
* Knowledge of, and interest in, biology and conservation issues.
* Knowledge of Ministry policies, programs and issues an asset.
* Ability to set priorities, organize tasks and meet tight time lines
in a high-pressure environment.
* Sound judgement, and ability to deal with communications issues
involving sensitive issues.
* Ability to work as a team member.
* Working knowledge of word processing and ability to use a 35 mm
camera.
* Knowledge of worker responsibilities under the Occupational Health &
Safety Act.
* Valid Drivers Licence.
