It shold be a course in English for Computer Science Profs (based on
the grammar and spelling in the above message).

Maybe with a joint with the admin dept, e-commerce courses could be
implemented for the computer studies stream... i know thast what 496,497 is
supposed to be accounting for right? but i was thinking.. like.. a few more
courses. May allow more crossover from C/S to Admin.

Did I make sence?

It would be nice to see the computer math course offered (260), or any
courses that aren't being scheduled in Oshawa the next year 2001/2002.
According to the proposed schedule, 304H won't be brought to Oshawa either,
and it's a required course.

Summer courses at Peterborough are good fillers for the part-time students
in Oshawa.

Just a suggestion

I think a few students wouldn't mind seeing CO431H - Computer
Networks offerred this summer. I know that a few of us were
denied for enrollment in that course this year for not having
CO332H as the pre-requisite - but come this summer we will. :)
Although, being that this is my last year at Trent, I will
miss out. :(

I would like to see 230 and 260 offered over the summer. I'm
trying to catch up with other 3rd year students, as I have switched
majors and need those courses to be able to take a proper 3rd year
course load.

I would agree, courses tied in with admin would be good... but i guess thats
why they have business schools.
Anything management/ computers I think would be a popular class, espeacally
Admin majors and computer majors looking into management or owning a
business. I think that makes sence...

We are only looking at courses that already exist. My question should
have been, what COSC?COST courses from the 2000/01 Academic Calender
would you like to see CSP put on in the summer.

well thats good that you atleast think its a good idea to join computer

woudl really benefit the future Admin and C/S students..

So, what exactly would you define as an e-commerce course?

Is this a business course on how to use the internet as an effective
business tool?
How to make money on the net?
.com startup 101?

The term e-commerce is such a broad term that I think that it would need to
be focused before you could teach a course on it.

Comments?

This is what the course calendar considers an 'e-commerce' course...

Computer Studies 497H - Special topic: Advanced topics in
information systems: e-commerce

Corporate information systems are merging with web technology to
enable organizations to compete in a knowledge-based economy. To
explore new developments, the major part of the course focuses on
project management and project work, including multimedia know-how
for e-marketers. A real e-commerce application will be created and
released live on the Web. Prerequisite: Computer Studies 262H.
Recommended: Computer Studies 496H.

Richard,
I had mentioned it might be nice to see 260 offered this summer, but I just
realized I need math 110 or math 135 as a prerequisite. (I will only have
math 105 and 155 by the summer)

Might it be possible to find out what the math dept is bringing down this
summer, if anything?
Math 135 hasn't been offered at Durham yet, could this be a possible summer
course?

The single major general degree is not in the book, it is still under
consideration by the school.
Trent, at this time, only offers a single major Honours degree (4 years).
The requirements will be different for a 3 year general degree (if it goes
through).

These were the courses that we submitted to JBC to be included in the
summer schedule. There is no guarentee that they will be offerred as
JBC has the final say. In the past however, JBC has offerred the
courses we suggested. The second main issue is that a course has to
have >= 12 students before it is offerred (even if it is in the
schedule). Classes with less students are cancelled. Be proactive if
there is a particular course you are looking for.
