REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS SEEKING APPROVAL
FOR PREREQUISITE WAIVER OR EQUIVALENCE STANDING
Normally all students will be required to have the prerequisites
for any course before being allowed to register in that course.
In some instances, students may feel that they have equivalent
knowledge, experience or course credit that may allow for waiver
of the normal prerequisites for a course. In order to obtain
permission to register in a course in the Computer Studies
Program where the student does not have the stated prerequisite
for that course, the student must submit, in writing to the
program committee, a request outlining the (i) course they are
attempting to register in, (ii) the prerequisite or prerequisites
that they are requesting to be waived, (iii) information and
documentation indicating relevant experience or course credit to
support the waiver request. A student may not register in a
course in which they do not have the stated prerequisites without
a prerequisite waiver approval from the program committee.
Note that the prerequisite waiver is not the same as granting
course equivalence.
