Everyone is having the same problem I think. It just started happening at the
beginning of this semester. I would have thought that it would have been fixed
by now, I'm not sure if the sys-admin knows about it.
I tried Hoover the Mover's patch that he posted on tu.g and it
worked for me. Read on.... /Bonnie

Why, I can't explain. But how to fix it, I can.
At the news prompt enter NEWS> set newsrc [filename].newsrc
where [filename is a filename of your choice. I used news, i.e. news.newsrc
After doing this, the scrolling lists immediately ceased.

set newsrc .newsrc
the next time your run newsrdr... From now on newsrdr should remember
new groups.
