Dear Girmaw,

How are you guys doing there ?

Girmaw we have been appointed for VISA and they need some requirements like health insurance, accomodation, financial means,... to be presented by the due date
Only health insurance is headache for most of us here others are okay. It says that Health insurance from Italian provider must be hold.
How did you guys tackle this situation? Is it okay to go embassy without it or is it mandatory?
Please tell us your experience.

Thanks man.

Hi Abayneh,

I asked the Welcome office about this issue and they informed me to submit the the following e-mail to the embassy for health insurance requirement.

Illustri Signori,

- INA Assitalia con validità per 12 mesi (costo euro 98,00);

Dear Abayneh,
I ask the same Question to the welcome office and they say they will
send our names to the embassy with letters about scholarship and
health insurance. here is what they send me .........

Dear ********,

Please find attached the documents you required.

In the file ‘alloggio’, we state that you will be lodged in an
accommodation of Opera Universitaria for the academic year 2011/12.

In the file ‘health insurance’ we say that after your arrival you will
be invited to stipulate the National health insurance.

We remind you that each Embassy decides autonomously if they want you
to stipulate an health insurance before your departure.

Remember that it will be at your risk travelling without an insurance
and in case of health problems you will be not covered for the first
days of your stay in Trento – until you pay and activate the Italian
National Insurance.

After your arrival you have two options:

- You can buy a private insurance for the first days of
your arrival; in order to get your stay permit you have to buy private
health insurance that covers only emergency that costs 49,00 € and it
is valid 6 months (so you are covered until the end of this year) +
the National Health insurance for 2012;

or

- You can buy a private insurance valid until the end of
this year (31st December); once you are in Italy in order to get your
stay permit you will pay the National Health insurance for 2012 that
costs 149,00 € and it is valid one calendar year;

We wrote to the Embassy explaining some of the information contained
in the letter scholarship and accommodation and we attached the
letters of all selected students.

I will forward to you this e-mail you can submit to the Italian Embassy.

Regards,

Francesca Leoni

....................................................................................................................

and they attached two PDFs stating the above things.

So u can ask the welcome office to get those letters and As long as
they send our list I think we r okay!!!!!!!

beterefe let's c what others wud say......

good luck

As google translate it ..........................

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

with this you send the statements regarding the allocation of
scholarship and the accommodation for the 2011/2012 academic year for
all students pre-enrolled in master's degree in English at the
University of Trent.

When you can not communicate the exact address at which the students
will stay for the final allocation will be made only days before their
arrival in Trento.

Regarding health insurance, if the students arrived in Trento without
medical coverage, we will get them to buy one of the following
policies:
- INA Assitalia valid for 12 months (cost Euro 98,00);
- INA Assitalia valid for 6 months (cost Euro 49.00) + enrollment in
the National Health Service for the calendar year 2012 (additional
cost € 149.77)

We remain at your disposal for any clarification and, on this
occasion, we send cordial greetings.

Barbara Dell'Anna

Dear brothers/sisters
How have you  all been doing? We are good here. OK, I guess there are some doubts for some of you. As we all know health insurance is one of the main requirements in embassy to get the visa. But as Yordi said earlier there are not many tasks expected from you since the main requirements are going to be delivered by the welcome office and opera universtaria to the embassy.
As described in Kedija's email, on the day you arrive here:
-You wil get the keys of your room (if the contract date includes ur arrival date),
-Welcome office will guide you to go to post office to buy a health insurance (ofcourse Italian one) and apply for stay permit
-Then you will get the appointment for giving you finger print and others for your application.
And about the health insurance for the first days of your arrival written in Kedja's email? Yes, I think it can be covered by the travelling insurance you are going to buy in Ethiopia. If I remember well it was for 7 days and we bought it in about 300 birr. Embassy guys ask some times and not the other day. But if you wanna be sure you can ask them where you should buy, because they usually tell where to get it.
You see Abayneh? Things are as easy as such. All done in one morning in Trento. Why you guys panic is because the embassy asked you for visa application. Yes, they are right to ask. Because this is formal and it is the procedure if you want to come to Italy irrespective of which university.
The embassy guys may not differentiate for Trento University or others. So going and explaining what is right is up to you guys.
Honestly, I can say that you guys have different information because each one of you try to get individually. And we appreciate if you come a bit closer to share and help each other. You have a lot to challenge together in future. So move together, if you are in group you can go to embassy and ask to speak Sami or some one else inside and explain all this. That is your right. You see? if you are moving together you will be more stronger. And that is what we have done last year. We move as a group and get things done at the same time.

*The other thing is your arrival. we know that you guys have different kinds of arrival date due to your number. So we want you to tell us who will arrive on which date. This will help us.
*Concerning other things you need to take care of before you depart. like shiro, berbere,..lol. I think you by now know. What I can say for the time being is about the weather. Just to let you remember the winter is very cold (some times below 0'c) and the summer may go to around 40 "c. In addition, one of us, Ephrem Teshale is in Addis these days. You guys can meet him if you arrange you selves and getting around one place and talking to him orally may give you some more info in addition to what we talked here in the forum. So if you want that, let me know your appointment date and place so that I will let him know.

My apology for the long email, and if you have some more doubts, don't forget to share it here.
We can not wait to see you all, you will make us our community a lot stronger.
Till then let's all keep safe!

Dear Lovely friends,

How are you doing? The Trento brothers and sisters explain more and the discussion was nice. As Girmaw said that it is better if we are in group. Thus our sound will have acceptance for any question. So lets ask in group at any movement. Also why don't we meet our brother Ephrem, if he is in Addis. Lets Arrange a day for that.

Question@ Trento Guys,

What do you advise us if we buy health insurance from Ethiopia for some months. Please compare the merits and demerits here in Ethiopia and there in Italy in different aspect like cost.....

Keep in touch !!!

Hi everybody,

It is breath taking discussion. Because at this time no body wants to leave this chance in connection with the criteria raised by Embassy people.

let me ask you one (could be final) question related to visa requirement. That is the embassy guys request double trip ticket (not booking paper). So does that mean single trip tickets doesn't have value? or ...
please share your idea- specially Trento friends as the date of booking expires resulting in increment of plane ticket.

keep in touch!!
