I just finished the anime and while I did enjoy watching it, the ending was quite unique. It wasn't like a cliffhanger because the ending can be considered a conclusion to the story, however, it certainly was not concrete. There were many things that were left out, and there seems to quite a lot of room for a second season. If any of you know anything about the second season of the anime, let me know. Also, what about the source material? Is it still ongoing? And please, if you know of any events that take place after the first season of the anime, don't mention them.

Narration: In WWI Friedman had trained the first team of codebreakers for the US military. During Prohibition she had taken on the most powerful gangsters in the country and brought down an international rum-running operation.

Jason Fagone, Author, The Woman Who Smashed Codes: The invention of radio completely transformed the value of code breaking. So it put an incredible premium on cryptography, on strong codes and ciphers because now that those messages were flying through the air they had to be protected. The problem for America is that on the eve of World War I the United States was completely unprepared to break codes in the war.

Technological innovations were fueling a global race to create evermore advanced devices for making and breaking codes. The post-war world was still a dangerous place. In 1921, William went to work for the Army Signal Corps developing new cipher machines.

Jason Fagone, Author, The Woman Who Smashed Codes: And whenever Elizebeth tried to explain how she solved the messages these six lawyers, men, would often stand up and object and say that it was some kind of witchcraft, that code breaking was not science, that Elizebeth was just making a guess.

Jason Fagone, Author, The Woman Who Smashed Codes: She got so fed up with the repeated objections of the defense attorneys that she asked a judge if she could have access to a blackboard. And Elizebeth proceeded to give a class in code breaking. And by the time she was finished the defense attorneys had nothing else to say.

Stiles arrives at the hospital, where Lydia keeps going into shock in her hospital bed. It is questioned whether or not Stiles or Scott saw anything; Stiles claims he knows nothing. Jackson and Stiles are constantly questioned about where Scott is; they decline to say. There is apparently nothing scarier than seeing a friend turn into a werewolf and having to lock them up to save yourself, as Chris explains. Stiles retorts, bringing up the Hale Fire and how a hunter broke their code of conduct.

Also launching Tuesdays through Thursdays at 3pm ET, collectors can utilize owned ICONs to compete for Candy League Points (5 points for your first guess, 10 points for a correct guess. Thankfully, his hallucination (Cary Elwes as a World War I code breaker) didn't ride bicycles backwards or even tell him exactly what he needed to know, other than that Pierce just had to look closer.

Pierce was able to do the heavy lifting of work and his frenetic pace at trying to solve the code, with his certain level of excitement, was enjoyable to watch. There was a real sense of him actually trying to figure things out without it simply and brilliantly popping in his head.

As for the plot, there's something exciting about trying to crack a code and even watching someone do it, but toward the end it felt a little preachy about big business, although I understood the whole point of the killer's motive.

After four episodes, the show remains reasonably good, but the real code to crack will be finding a way to take Perception from standard procedural to a hit that breaks the mold and becomes something of its own.

Kevin Feenstra's Code Breaker swing fly. This fly is tied true to Kevin Feenstra's Codebreaker shiner recipe, except we subbed light yellow instead of fluorescent yellow for the body. Just for the sake of dealing with our low, clear water conditions this season.

Season Three, Round Two of Live Fly Tying featured our friend Kevin Feenstra who surprised us by sharing five great patterns that should be in your box. His base code breaker has been around for a few years but he has found this color scheme to be especially effective in the winter months.

All centered around the idea of a team coming together and taking down one of their members who wishes to destroy the world, or 50,000 people, or the government, or the show kinda forgot why he was evil. With no real emotional weight, due to how little we actually see of this team that worked together for years, actually working together. Instead having people with ice powers to provide racial diversity, or hint an an unfinished subplot. But that was foreshadowing for season two, having a guy just be helping the antagonist.

Sometime after Supreme Leader Snoke's assumption of leadership within the First Order, Master Codebreaker stole the Smuggler's Guide from the Kanjiklub chief in the middle of negotiations for the domination of Rim territories, and wondered if Maz Kanata intended the book for him as another one of their tests of intellect. Before trying to uncover the enigma, Codebreaker visited the betting parlors of Hosnian Cardota, where he played with the arms dealers, steadily decreasing their money supply to their offense. Eventually, one of them tried to poison him, but the toxicity was nullified by hullepi-culture tongue sheath. He claimed to exit the parlor from the 350th-floor balcony using a para-wing glider. Master Codebreaker then returned to the enigma of the logbook and wrote an entry detailing this exploit in the Smuggler's Guide.[2]

Following his experience in the Hosnian system, Codebreaker noticed that Maz's list of powerful crime syndicates was decades out of date and that she neglected to mention the galaxy's true powers. He then wrote in the Smuggler's Guide new list of powerful syndicates: Black Sun lost their place in the list and became vigo diaspora, Crymorah Syndicate was replaced by Droid Gotra, Crimson Dawn by Son-tuul Pride and Guavian Death Gang, Pykes and Hutts by Kanjiklub and Red Key Raiders. He also added corporate entities that Maz neglected to mention: Sienar Fleet Systems, BlasTech, Kuat Drive Yards, Mining Guild, Corporate Sector Authority.[2]

Taking a break from ciphers to earn credits, though he also said he wouldn't be against Chandrilan cocktail, Master Codebreaker paid a visit to the Brentaal Trading Houses on Brentaal IV, one of the few worlds that still allow Codebreaker to play the games of odds which he recorded in the logbook.[2]

After his sojourn on Brentaal and parts spinward, he continued trying to uncover the secrets of the logbook, and suggested that it could be bio-hexacrypted and that he only needed to determine the biological sample Maz selected for encryption to crack this. He was also reminded that regardless of which faction holds power, Galactic Republic or Galactic Empire, New Republic or First Order, business interests retain their grip on manufacturing. Eventually, Master Codebreaker managed to decode the meaning of the logbook, concluding that it is an elaborate cipher that Codebreaker claimed means "Happy Fete Week," wondering if it was an elaborate way by Maz to wish him New Year Fete. He recorded his attempts to decode the Smuggler's Guide in it.[2]

Later, Master Codebreaker tried to send the Smuggler's Guide back on course to Takodana as a thank you to Maz, so he decided to place it in the Millennium Falcon. He managed to locate the[2] YT-1300f light freighter,[3] and sneak the logbook on board, thinking Han Solo wouldn't notice it. The book then ended up being discovered by Gannis Ducain.[2]

Master Codebreaker was only known by his title, and kept his original identity a secret. However, he once posted all of his personal information to a public node, encrypted by bio-hexacrypt, and anybody who uncovered the information was welcome to take his mantle. However, nobody was known to have retrieved the information.[4]

Matching his levels of secrecy, the Codebreaker's companion kept her real name hidden from him, and he only referred to her as "Lovey". At the Canto Casino, Master Codebreaker was only allowed to play dice games, and he was forbidden from electronic entertainment.[4] He regularly wore a brooch in the shape of a red flower, a plom bloom, pinned on his lapel, which Maz told Finn and Rose about as an identifying mark. On the day he was sought out by the pair, he was sporting a thin black mustache.[1]

Master Codebreaker is a character created by Rian Johnson for the 2017 film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. He was portrayed by Justin Theroux. Prior to Theroux's casting, the Master Codebreaker was originally conceived as a giant insect warlord which was supposed to be an animatronic according to creature and droid effects supervisor Neal Scanlan, but the idea was scrapped when Theroux was cast one day before filming.[5]

Codebreaker was Team Diginati's superheavyweight entry for the final two seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots. It was a four-wheel drive robot armed with a spinning drum. Codebreaker lost its first Season 4.0 fight, but made it to the quarter-finals of Season 5.0.

Codebreaker's first and only match was against the veteran Tortoise. Codebreaker commenced the match by immediately box rushing Tortoise and ramming with its back side, slamming Tortoise into the wall and stopping it. Tortoise was then continuously rammed into the wall, not being able to spin up to full speed. Tortoise eventually got away and actually knocked out some electronics on Codebreaker, immobilizing it. Tortoise spun up one more time to cause destruction to the dead Codebreaker. Codebreaker was counted out and Tortoise won by KO at 1:04. This meant that Codebreaker was eliminated from the tournament.
