Hello to the entire community,

I hope you are all doing well.

As part of my master’s thesis, I am using the Trends.Earth tool to analyze land degradation indicators. However, I am currently facing a challenge: the sub-indicators and the final indicator are not being calculated strictly within the boundaries of my study area.

Despite several attempts, the analysis appears to extend beyond the limits defined by my shapefile.
I would be grateful for any help or advice on how to resolve this issue and ensure that the calculations are restricted to my exact area of interest.

Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards,

Arnaud

Dear Arnaud,

The results and summary statistics refer to the defined area of interest. Raster files are produced for a square/rectangle enveloping the vector file representing the boundaries of your study area.

Best,
Gabriel

Hi Arnaud,
I believe the issue is related to the projection (CRS) of your datasets. I suggest providing your area’s shapefile in a Geographic Coordinate System (EPSG:4326). Also, ensure that the buffer option is enabled with a distance of 10 km or more, and view the derived results using QGIS LTR (Long Term Release) version.

Additionally, please make sure your working area and directory paths are correctly set before processing any indicators.

When requesting support, always include complete details such as the versions of Trends.Earth and QGIS you are using, the name of the area or country you are working on, and relevant screenshots. This information helps others better understand your issue and provide accurate solutions.

I hope this helps!

Regards,
Dr. Ram
