Distancewill slow down the kill rate as it reduces accuracy as well as setting them all to 'average' skill. You could use a trigger to spawn reinforcements on top of the existing unit after it suffers a certain amount of damage or dies altogether, or just put it on a set time after a flag.

There would be a few minutes where there would be nothing happening (because the spawned troops are moving to the engagement zone) but for the most part you saw consistent tracer rounds and a firefight from above.


I'm really no expert at mission editing/scripting etc, but one idea that comes to mind is to artificially 'simulate' the battle until such a time that you're ready for units to start getting killed, and so allowing the battle to eventually come to an end.


This can be achieved by making the opposing groups 'invisible' to each other (so they won't actually shoot each other), and also assign each group a waypoint action of firing at a point in the vicinity of the opposing group - (making it appear like they are actively firing at each other).


you ll run out of ammo quite fast... I did not do it but I had an Idea... thorugh event handler... or something. When they start firing... after 10 secs, they stop firing (and the opponents too). after 30 secs... you activate them again... and so.. I may be give a try.


If you place an M818, Ural-375, or Ural-4320T in the group they should rearm when they run dry. Takes a couple minutes but if you have 2 or 3 groups with staggered ROEs you can light it up pretty well.


I'm a little annoyed that the units don't actually shoot anywhere in the radius (they shoot directly at the point even when you give a radius.) so I need to cue or manipulate waypoints... so they look a little more convincing and shoot at more than one spot.


I've used a large zone and activated/de-activated the AI depending on whether or not an aircraft of the right type was present. I was building scenarios where medevac helos were landing very close to hot LZs. I gave up on actual foot soldier type infantry; they simply run at each other until they're thoroughly mixed up. I kept light armor engagements sorta dynamic with a mixture of balanced opponents, range, and respawn when dead at a certain percentage. They would turn on and off repeatedly and maintain a fun level of 'splosions, tracers, and fire.

Firefighting crews from multiple San Diego-based ships and bases and federal firefighters worked around the clock combating the fire. Navy helicopters dumped more than 1,500 buckets of water on the ship, while tugboats shot water onto the ship to cool the hull. At the height of the blaze, temperatures on board reached 1,000 degrees.


The Vietnam War was in full force. It was a costly war that would take the lives of 2,559 Sailors. It was a war that would cost a total of 58,220 American service members. While it's impossible to quantify the value of even a single life, we take pride in knowing each one of these people laid down their lives for their country.


On the morning of July 29, 1967, USS Forrestal (CVA-59), operating in the Gulf of Tonkin, commenced air operations in preparation for the launching of a 24-plane alpha strike. At 1050, a McDonnell F-4B Phantom II aircraft began pre-flight procedures.


Suddenly, multiple electronic malfunctions on the aircraft caused one of its four 5-inch Mk-32 "Zuni" unguided rockets to fire across the flight deck, striking another aircraft, tearing it to shreds, and rupturing its fuel tank. The fuel bled from the Douglas A-4E Skyhawk and sprayed the surrounding area, creating a pool below.


During basic training, Sailors are exposed to the fundamentals of shipboard firefighting - one of the many classes during the seven weeks of boot camp. While there, Sailors learn about the Forrestal and watch video clips from the actual fire. It's a harrowing moment that forces Sailors-in-the-making to witness a firsthand account of the dangers they may face serving aboard a ship.


The fundamentals learned at Recruit Training Command create the foundation on which all Sailors must build their knowledge of firefighting and damage control. It's a building block on a journey to live on a ship and learn to protect Navy lives and assets.


Named for the heroic deeds of Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) Gerald Farrier, who led one of the fire parties during the initial moments of the Forrestal disaster, this school serves the critical need of more advanced firefighting and damage control training. During the training, Sailors are exposed to simulations designed to recreate real shipboard emergency scenarios.


There is little that can substitute the value of realistic simulation when it comes to training. At Farrier, Sailors attend the school to face different classes of fire inside mock-ship compartments that reach temperatures of around 200 degrees.


Most training courses run the entire day for about a week. They start early, especially in the summer, to avoid the naturally higher temperatures of the Virginian sun. The spaces get hot enough without the help of the southern climate.


In this way the school acts as a sort of feedback loop. On one hand, the school sees 10,000 to 15,000 students a year - training them and equipping them with the knowledge and fundamentals needed to properly manage or take part in a repair lockers aboard a ship. On the other hand, students can sometimes provide new insights into shipboard firefighting, which can make a real difference on a fleet-wide level.


Although PFAS-containing foams are more effective than fluorine-free foams, in numerous scientific studies PFAS are linked to harmful effects on humans and animals and they do not degrade naturally in the environment. In response to the negative impacts of PFAS, the Department of Defense in January 2023 issued a new performance specification for firefighting foams used by the military PDF. The specification outlines the functional requirements for firefighting foams used on military bases. These foams must be able to effectively extinguish class B hydrocarbon liquid fuel fires without containing PFAS.


Many efforts are underway to find effective alternatives to PFAS-containing firefighting foams. However, given the rapidly evolving legislation and the urgency of the issue, researchers are hoping to find additives to existing foam formulations that can be deployed faster in the field.


For example, researchers at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland, are testing and evaluating additives to enhance firefighting capabilities of commercially available PFAS-free fire suppressants for military use. This volume of the IARC Monographs provides evaluations of the carcinogenicity of shiftwork, painting and firefighting. Shiftwork is estimated to involve about 15-20% of the total working population. It is most prevalent among workers in the health care, transportation, communication, leisure and hospitality sectors. Shiftwork involving work at night is the most disruptive for the circadian clock. Painters are potentially exposed to the chemicals found in paint products during their application and removal, and may also be exposed to other workplace hazards, such as asbestos or crystalline silica dust. Firefighters may be exposed at different intensity levels depending on crew assignment, tasks, and/or the time spent at fires. All fires generate a very large number of toxic combustion products, including known, probable or possible carcinogens. An IARC Monographs Working Group reviewed epidemiological evidence, animal bioassays where appropriate, and mechanistic and other relevant data to reach conclusions as to the carcinogenic hazard of these three exposure circumstances to humans.
