Theabove is a question about the "Why" of Laghunyasam. The time, precautions and reasons. However my question is not the same and I ask for what Laghunyasam symbolizes and encompasses. What energy does it invoke?

These faces have the following names. īśāna, tatpuruṣa, aghora, vāmadeva, and sadyojāta. These faces face up the sky, East, South, North and West respectively. It seems that a lingam with five faces as described here is to be seen only in the Pashupati temple in Nepal and the temple attached to the Shankara math in Tiruvanaikkaval near Trichy. The hymn given in the beginning has salutations to the five faces of the Lord.

We have the salutations to Shiva's five faces in Mahanyasam that is chanted before chanting the vedic hymn Shri Rudram. There are two Nyasams, the Mahanyasam and the Laghunyasam.

The Mahanyasam invokes the deity of Shri Rudra in His many forms of Indra, Agni, Yama, Varuna etc in the different limbs (anga's) of the one who chants. Such an invoking is done to seek the blessings of the Lord, and at the same time giving one and all a feeling of immediate presence of the Lord in the vicinity of the chanting. The Mahanyasam has certain chapters of the Shri Rudram, the Purusha Suktam etc repeated in it. The Shiva samkalpam is also part of this.

Starting with Guru Vandhanam, Swasthi Vachanam, ritwiks chant Mahanyasam followed by Rudra Parayanam. Ekadasa Rudra Parayanam is the chanting of Sri Rudram eleven times. All eleven sections of Namakam are chanted followed by the first of the eleven sections of Chamakam. This pattern is repeated 11 times with each of the other 11 sections of Chamakam.

please bring updated shiva stotra nidhi book with mahanyasam as it give full scope for RUDRARCHANA WITH COMPLETE WORSHIP TO LORD SHIVA. DO THE NEEDFUL IMMEDIATELY FOR ON BEHALF OF DEVOTEES. THANK YOU WITH LOTS OF PRANAMAS

can anybody explain in detail what each of the steps involved in performing mahanyasaka purvaka rudrabhishekam given above in mahanysam text means and why it is to be performed & in which order to do a complete rudrabishekam.

Significance of Mahanyasa purvaka Rudrabhishekam: Mahath means great (like mahatyam). Nyasam is purification. With these, Mahanyasam is said to be a form of purification. The act of mahanyasam purifies mind, body and soul. In all Mahanyasa purvaka Rudrabhishekam is a special pooja to Lord Siva chanting along with Rudram. An orthodox person who performs Sandhya Vandanam knows Anganyasam and Karanyasam. Like those, Mahanyasam is also a prakriya in pooja. Mahanyasam is said to be done before chanting Rudram. It is given in Bruhath Parasara Smruti.

Shiva Puja: Every Monday a Shiva Puja with chanting of Rudram will be performed by a male volunteer from 7:30pm to 9:00pm . Puja will be followed by prasad. Anyone interested to sponsor the puja can bring flowers and milk for the worship.

Devi Puja: Every Tuesday a female volunteer will perform the puja for Sita Devi, invoking the grace of Devi in that form and performing 16-step traditional worship with chanting of Lalita Sahasranamam from 7pm to 8:30pm.

Shree Lakshmi Puja: During every New Year that falls on or after April 14 (per the Hindu calendar), a special puja to invoke goddess Lakshmi is performed along with a grand festival known as Indiafest at Chinmaya Rameshwaram.

Ramanavami Puja: A nine-day event celebrating the birth of Sri Rama is organized every year at Chinmaya Rameshwaram that includes recitals of Tulsi Ramayan, talent shows, and a grand puja for Sri Rama parivaar.

Ganapati Puja: At the beginning of every Bala Vihar year in September to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha a special puja is performed at the main assembly, with children participating in the chanting.

Sarasvati Puja: During the occasion of Navaratri, the nine-day celebration in October for the three female deities of Hinduism, a special puja is performed for Mother Saraswati to invoke blessings for the children studying in Balavihar classes.

Rameshwaram Anniversary Puja: Just after the Uttarayana in January, every year a special puja is organized to mark the anniversary of Chinmaya Rameshwaram which includes Sudarshana Homa, Raama Bheeja Homa, and Guru Paduka Puja.

On Mahashivaratri, Rudra Ekadasi is performed in the morning which consists of Mahanyasam, Rudram chanting by 11 ritviks led by an Acharya, and Rudram and Chamakam homam. In the evening there is abhishekam for Lord Shiva by devotees followed by bhajans, Shiva Puja, and Arati at midnight.

After CMLA moved into its new facility Rameshwaram in 2010, the celebration gathered more momentum with large number of children and parents participating in the week-end laksharchana performed for Lord Rama.

After Kumbhasthapanam, Mahanyasam will be chanted. Mahanyasam is invoking Lord Siva in the our own body by chanting the mantras and touching the concerned part of the body. After that, first the eleven Anuvakas of Namakam is chanted, followed by the first Anuvakam of Chamakam. Next again the eleven Anuvakams of Namakam with second Anuvakam of Chamakam will be chanted. Like this for 11 full chanting of Namakam one full chanting of Chamakam is completed.

One of the grandest ways of chanting Sri Rudram where in the set pattern is repeated 1331 times is known as Maha Rudram which is extremely powerful. Maha Rudra parayana when coupled with Abhishekam, Havanam and Brahmana Bhojana makes it a Maha Rudra Yagam and is unparalled in its importance.

Such a grand 2 day Maha Rudram cannot be performed without sponsorship support and donations from all our dear devotees and Shiva Bhaktas. You are encouraged to come forward and register as a Sponsor to support financially this great Maha Rudram by clicking on the button above.

The brothers have been chanting vedas since childhood, having learnt from their father Sri. M.Sampathkumaracharya and teaching the vedas since 1992, after learning from their Guru Sri Anantakrishna Ghanapathigalu and Sri Anantanarayana Ghanapathigalu.[2] Their renditions of Purushasuktam, Rudram, Chamakam, Shanti mantras, Taitriyam, Upanishads, Mahanyasam and other Vedic chants and suktas are popularly held in India as one of the most authentic chants. They hold public performances, at temples and ceremonies, for the general public. Srinivasan has also been teaching Vedic chanting to ladies and gents since 1992. He commenced the first ladies batch on 4 November 1992 with 3 ladies who were interested in learning to chant vedas. They now have more than 500 students who chant with great synchronisation.[3]

Srinivasan and Madhu's daughter, Shreeraksha is a child prodigy in Vedic chanting.[4] At the age of six, she became the first lady to chant the vedas in the inner shrine of the Ramakrishna Math Bangalore during navaratri. She has also chanted vedas at various programmes and events.

The brothers live in Bangalore, India. In an interview in 2016, Sreenivasan mentioned that his wife Madhu Sreenivasan had married him in 1996 on the condition that he would teach her chanting. He also discredits the fallacy that Vedic chanting negatively affects women, as he and his wife had a child three years after their marriage. Their child turned out to be a prodigy in Veda chanting and teaches others now.[6]

The act of mahanyasam purifies mind, body and soul. In all Mahanyasa purvaka Rudrabhishekam is a special pooja to Lord Siva chanting along with Rudram. Witness the Mahanyasa Purvaka Rudraabhishekam to the divine chants of Sri Rudram from Vedas and washes off sins from several births.
