Trema won't run

Hi,

We have installed trema on a Debian 4.3.5-4 system, running ruby version
ruby 1.9.3p286 (2012-10-12 revision 37165) [x86_64-linux]

We have installed trema using both the gem and directly from the source
but every time we try to run it (e.g. ./trema run ./hello_trema)
we get an error similar to:

'/root/trema-trema-776c0f2/objects/switch_manager/switch_manager
--daemonize --port=6653 -- port_status::hello_trema
packet_in::hello_trema state_notify::hello_trema vendor::hello_trema'
failed!

Any ideas what might be wrong or how we can go about debugging this?
