I saw this interesting article on http://www.kenttessman.com/ about Open Screenplay format

Open Screenplay Format is an XML,file created specifically to be a concise, clear, and robust way to store the content of a screenplay. Of course it's free and open source (GPL licence). Perhaps interesting in the cotext of Trelby development (I don't know?)

Ken Tessman is the developer of a commercial screenwriting program: FadeIn

Trelby code supports import of .fadein format (which is the open
screenplay format) - the support went in yesterday. This will be
available in the next release.

Hello,

have you considered adopting this format as the default one (with .trelby extension) or would that give too many problems?

I haven't examined the .trelby format yet, but the open screenplay format seems very clean, and it's also nice that it used a zip container to achieve a small file size.

It's been considered and rejected. There's lots of trelby-specific info we need to store.

I agree with what Osku said. We have many formats already.
