Editor Behaviour Question / Suggestion

Would it be possible to modify the editor behaviour so that hitting Enter on a blank line would perform differently than it does right now?

For example in one screenplay editor that I use if you're on Action text and the line is blank, when you hit Enter you switch over to Slugline. Hit it again and you're back to Action.

In another, if you hit Enter on a blank line you get an inline menu to select the desired format.

I think the inline menu is a little overkill, but I really like the ability to choose a which two objects to toggle between when hitting Enter on a blank line. Is this something that would be considered for inclusion?

That behavior of final drat was particularly annoying to me. In a text editor, enter key usually adds a line. That's how all text controls behave, and if we are to be different, there needs to be a very good use case/reason. IMO what you've outlined is not.

Currently you can select what [tab] and [enter] do for each element, so you can edit it to your preference for the 'action' type. Or simply press alt+s any time to change to scene heading (the inline menu is not the only way to change to scene).

Enter should always create a new line. Anything else is too confusing in a text editor. There's so many ways to get the right element type (enter, tab, popup menu, keyboard shortcuts, int/ext matching, etc) that to change enter to not create a new element would just confuse things.
