This is probably asking a lot, but is there any chance of somehow running this on Chrome/Chrome OS? A Chromebook with Trelby (saving to Google Drive) would be a pretty awesome writing machine. Especially with the Samsung ARM version. 6+ hours of battery life, light weight, a good keyboard, etc. for $250.

I really wouldn't know how you would do this, but I guess Native Client or possibly Pyjamas could be used?

If not I think I may be able to boot a full Linux distro from an SD card to achieve basically the same thing.

Hi Austin,

It could be made to word.. specifically, since ChromoeOS is linux underneath, you just have to get python and wxwidgets running.

The simplest way: I have heard of simple steps to setup any ARM-based linux on these.. so you can simply dualboot or install these linux flavors and enjoy Trelby. It runs fine on ARM.. or any architecture that has python on it. Google "Ubuntu on Chromebook" and follow the steps.

Hi Anil,

I did manage to get it working with a script on github: https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton

It runs at the same time as Chrome OS, so I could just switch over, start Trelby and switch to fullscreen for a pretty good writing experience that seems native basically.

It certainly works well enough for now, at least until a better method comes along. Thanks!

If you could let me know exactly how you got this setup working, it'd be a great help. I would love to have the same set up, but I'm no expert at linux.
