I just started using Trelby.  After my first writing session, I saved my first few pages without incident.  Now, I am getting an error message when trying to save new work.  I tried to change ownership and permission for the Trelby folder and for the specific document.  Nothing is working.  How to I get permission to save my changes?

Did you do anything differently before you opened the saved file again?

Suggestions to fix:
  • Have you tried saving the file using "Save As..."?
  • Was the file saved properly? Compare a different Trelby screenplay to it.
  • Have you tried reinstalling Trelby on your computer?

I don't really know because I never had that problem with Trelby.

JR,

I believe you are encountering a known bug in trelby, where the first
session is not run in normal user mode but in Administrator mode (this
is because you run the installer in admin mode, and the installer has
"Run Trelby" clicked.

The fis is simply to "save as" the file, and save it on your desktop (
the old file is in the Admin's desktop, or admin's documents, which is
the reason you cannot access it.)

This issue is fixed in the release we will be doing in a couple days.

Anil,

Thanks so much, for your quick response and your software.  Saving as and getting back to work.

You right click on the arrow of the trelby icon.  Go to Properties and click on advanced.  The box will ask you if you want to run the icon in Administrator mode.  You click the box and save or add or apply , shut down your machine and then your done.  I am a programmer and it took me an hour to figure this out:!
