A comic book format was briefly mentioned by someone else, but I was wondering if it would be possible to add configurable elements(in all aspects). Technically, I can write graphic novels with Trelby, but I have to remember that my pages are scenes, my panels are shots, captions are ..., etc.  I was wondering if for Trelby settings it would be possible to "skin" the system.  This is what fadein does if you look at their graphic novel template.  I've currently been using either celtx (which is too simple) and fivesprockets.com (which is great, but only web based).  I've also changed a latex style to do what I want, but it really shouldn't be that complicated.  :)

I just want the ability to have elements be named whatever I want, and to possibly create new ones.  It would also be nice if autonumbering existed for pages/panels/etc., which could be configured on the elements style.  I've dug around a bit in the code, and it seems the elements themselves are pretty hard coded, but this seems like it could be rewritten to be dynamic and configurable.  Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts.  Thanks for your time.

Trelby's focus is screenwriting.. so I'm afraid we won't be able to
customise it the way you've requested. On the surface it doesn't seem
complicated, but it would mean we could need to maintain the new
usecase, which is a maintainence burden, and loss of focus on
screenwriting.

You can use it the way you're currently, though.

Cheers,
Anil

Yeah, I kind of figured once I started looking through the code.  I had been hoping that the elements all dynamically derived from the same object type, and then they could easily be modified.  Well, I guess I'll go back to my latex scripts.  Thanks, and I'll keep watching the project.  It really is a nice piece of software.  The problem is that there are tons of screenwriting applications (admittedly none work simply and elegantly like trelby), but celtx is the only option for comics on the desktop and it's not very good.  But anyway, thanks again.

I have got a idea: Trelby adds templetes, similar to that of "sample.trelby", for TV, film, and graphic novel styles.

I have already made these templetes, but I would be happy to share those if that is alright with both Anil and Osku.
