Alan,

Thanks should go to Aquarius for this. She writes ~

"Do you still need the information or is it too late? I don't know first hand of any Trek zines currently in production, Media West Con (http://www.mediawestcon.org/) is still where the most zines premier, and zines can also be purchased through Agent With Style (http://www.agentwithstyle.com/).

If I had more time, I could do a little more digging. Let me know."

I just thanked her, didn't ask for any more info.

Sincerely,

Janet

I was hoping for more but it appears that we might have the market cornered with personal Logs!

I think these are all or mostly R/NC-17 as well. I saw a lot of slash mentioned. I'm not sure she understood what I was asking about.

Sincerely,

Janet

Actually, she's probably right. The last Gen Trekzines I heard of were those put out by uh, the guy who is now running Project Potemkin (at work so can't check the name), which he used to printout at his fast-Copy business. other than that, there might be some newsletters from fan clubs that have fanfic in them but the swing has been overwhealmingly towards posting on forums. Trekzines have become a minor niche romance market for trading on-line and at conventions as far as I can see. I've always thought they have been skating on thin ice actually unless they sell their trekzines for printing cost price.

caveat; there are some gaming fanzines but we are talking about fiction 'zines here

Just been to the blog. And to say I'm confused would be putting it mildly. The Treekzine piece was continued. But the next blog is about IDIC ?????
None of this is making sense to me.

When I say "To be Continued" I mean that I will be adding more to this Blog entry, if I were to be continuing it elsewhere I would have put a pointer in to where to look for the continuation. I thought it was self-explanatory that each Blog entry was a different subject - why would i do two days on the same subject. "Day 11 is a pencil - Day 12 is... another pencil!"

If it is confusing it might be best for me to take the "Continued " notations out

No, I guess it's just where I'm dealing with things I haven't dealt with before- blogs for example. I have been dealing with the internet to one degree or another for about 7 years- and I am nowhere near "Internet savy". I don't do Facebook or twitter- heck, I don't even have a cell phone- just don't see the need for any of it.
You do what you think you need to do ,the way you kow how to do it. I'll catch on eventually.

Any of the entries that I've left as "To be continued" I'm hoping to complete before the end of the month. Day 11 - Trekzines - will be completed before the end of the week because i want to use it as an advance promo for Personal Logs. The learning curve for the video software was too steep to do it in one night so I just clipped some teasers out of the graphics we have to date as illustrations for the entry. The continuation of the entry will be a statement that - in effect Personal Logs is the ONLY "GEN" Trekzine currently in production. I'm hoping that others will see that as a challenge to do the same... or better!
