Working from memory, last night was day 9 Trek gaming which leaves us...
10 Trek modelling : Based on last year's again, probably a lot of holes
11 Trekzines : If I can't complete Personal Logs I'll do a video promo
12 IDIC  : I'll get a guest essayist in

Again, working from memory, I'm on the train going in to work, Personal Logs has a couple of articles not formatted yet and one for sure that's without title art (Bones / Spock)

Ah, excellent! I'll be sure to hype it in the usual places. Did you know the most views we have are for Day 2 (Fan fic) and Day 6 (Adult trek)?

Sincerely,

Janet

I didn't have time to do the listing of comics last night - I only got to bed an hour before my wife got up for work! -  but I'm planning on adding them over the next few days. I've created a spreadsheet that turns columns of data into html code automatically so that I can create the listings I've been doing.

Actually I go back to work tomorrow so I'm going to set up a draft framework for all the days that are left and set them to auto-publish so that we'll have something online for sure.

What did you think of the Photonovel? I really like the idea - I reckon they would be a great option for a partnership between a writer and a photoshop artist.

I'm not surprised, It's deserved and that's where we've had the most coverage. The gaming & modeling posts won't get many hits until I post them on the boards where those fans frequent but I don't want to do that until I have them in a more complete standard. I should post on the fan film boards though

Only two now and I need to do something about Trekzines next. There is no way that I could complete Personal Logs overnight, and I need to have sonera supporting info about other Trekzines anyway. Janet, I don,t have the email address for Aquarius with me, could you forward this post to her to see if she can give us any info / links to Trekzines that she knows about? I know that she's had experience in the field herself.

I'm going to go for a video teaser of PLogs 2 - we've got some stunning graphics and I can narrate something like I did the last one. Have you worked out your recording setup yet, J? That last file you sent through to me didn't work, the file extension needs to be either mp3 or wav - there are others like mp4 and ogg but aim to use mp3 or wav.  Don't let your accent hold you back, sometimes it can be an asset - think of Peter Falk reading The Princess Bride.

Gotta go.

Alan

I just sent her a PM on Delphic Expanse.

I didn't know I needed to do voice more over stuff. I really can't do it during the week, so please go ahead if you need to get things out before the weekend.  I'll see if I remember how to run the setup. It's been a while.

Nah, it wasn't meant as something that you *had* to do, thinking more in the long-term as something that I think would be a drawcard for your work. If we could do a short blurb for each book, it could be used on Issuu or as the background narration for a video teaser/trailer for the book which could be a video thumbnail for the Facebook announcement. Just the length of the normal advertisement - 2 minutes?

Alternatively i've had some really good connections on Skype - I could record it at my end.

A Momentary change of topic: The Nova Trek Omnibus has just reached 300! That puts all 3 of the posted books at 300 or better. Assignment;Yesterday's closing in on 800.

You've got a good solid appeal there. When things cool down i should do an audio/video trailer for Novatrek

It's all a surprise to me. The Tamerlane numbers are just as high- over there, "Guardian's Child" is closing in on 900.  Combine the two sites and we're talking over 3700 hits. Some people say not to trust the numbers because of e-bots and span bots and the like, but that's the only gage I have for how well the stories are doing.

I agree. If it were a commercial situation it would be sales but in our case there is only feedback and/or hit counts.your friends are right a certain percentage will be bits but you can draw comparative points; if Assignment yesterday is getting more hits than the Omnibus then, all other things equal, there must be something about AY that appeals to your audience. I would suggest that it is the inclusion of an iconic TOS character/storyline - your new one should do as well if you publicise the Female Rom. Commander, she's another iconic character.

Well, she's a major player in the first 2 parts. She has as much "screen time" as Jan. She's featured on the Advance Sheet and on the cover for Part 1.

A good "teaser" for that would be a group shot with Kirk facing away from the camera so you only see his back and Jan and her sister facing the camera and him with shocked looks on their faces...

I should be in advertising!
