Haven't heard anything for awhile, so I thought I'd "knock" and see how things were going. You ok, Kirok?

Still staggering along (^v^) Last night was gym until late but on Monday I fixed up the back page using the NCC-1701 & NCC-1701-E spacescapes from Todd Grosser - you can see them on his deviantART gallery but I'll send a copy of the back page later.

My next problem is the inside back cover. I've always said i'll give it to whoever does our cover to feature their work but I haven't heard back from Guy about doing anything for this - I might just do a collage of his covers for Tamarlane and give it a blurb.

By the way, I mentioned to Todd about asking him to pitch for the covers of a trilogy developed from April's submission. What we need to put together is
  • a *general* cover art guideline (what resolution, graphic file format, sizes)
  • a pdf gallery of thumbnails, hyperlinked to the originals that will show what we have done in the past (or maybe i should make this a blog page on the TU Publishing website/Blogger account I started? hmmm get more mileage out of that)
  • a "treatment" of the work that they are going to be pitching for with a plot summary and specific suggestions of the artwork
Thoughts?

You might want to e-mail Guy or drop a line at the Tamerlane site. He's been having site problems over there- something is preventing evryone from starting new threads- He might've forgotten.

What are the page sizes for April's books? Shouldn't it all be the same size? That's the way I do Nova Trek.

As long as her story is, I think a plot summary is a must.

For whatever we need which won't change much (such as cover specs), there's no reason not to use the blog, and then just have the link as a place to point. So this could be the first and second items on your list.

Sincerely,

Janet

I'll try Guy again tonight, Madison, the size of the cover depends on what we are publishing - the pdf paperbacks are industry standard A format "Mass Market Paperback", digest is folio US Letter, etc...

Good point, Janet, We should have the author submission guidelines and the style guide there as well and then we just link to them.
