Lauren and Aurora were sitting in on the couch in the Coop's ready room
looking over the reports. They were due to arrive at SB 514 within the hour.
But they needed to check-in with fleet command. It had been several days
since the last check-in and neither him nor Lauren had spoken with Pullings
since before the raid on his ship. "So....what do you think is the truth?
Was Pullings actually following orders from StarFleet command or did he just
go insane?"
"I'll leave that judgement up to Starfleet Medical. To me it was senseless
violence. Orders or not, and we lost two crews in the process. Fleet Command
is going to have to re-Captain and crew the Kingston, if they decide she's
spaceworthy. Did you ever figure out what was going on with her and those
particles?"
Lauren just shook her head, "Nope....we can't find anything like it in the
database. I'm gonna reach out to some of my contacts within the civilian
populace and see if I can't anything there."
Coop turned to Aurora, "How about you Au? You've been around the
Galaxy...seen a few things...what's your impression?"
Aurora didn't look up from the PADD she was reading. "It could have been
any number of things. He may have received orders from Command, or he may
just have lost the plot. Maybe he even lost it and thought he received
orders from Command. Space dementia is not as uncommon as people would have
you think." Coop was correct, she had been round the galaxy and seen a
great many things.
Coop nodded "In the meantime, I think we should institute a Shoreleave
schedule, after a mission like that I think a break is a welcome reward for
a successful mission."
Lauren nodded, "I think that would be wise. I also have some things that I
need to take care of while at SB 514." Lauren said there was somethings in
her past that not even Coop knew about let alone anyone out of SFI
Intelligence.

After speaking the Admiral he got right onto the horn with the deputy fleet
commander General Sharpe he needed to be made aware of what was going within
the Farius system and that one of his ships would be diverted there to help
out with the situation. "General I hope this isn't a bad time."
"Well, finding a good time these days is harder than you'd think."
Sharpe said. "What can I do for you?"
"From my knowledge the Atlantia is due back to port shortly but we need to
divert her to the Farius system. Figured that JSOC should check-in with the
a fleet commander and make sure they're okay with that." Tucker said giving
the General a smile.
"Since when do JSOC check with anyone on anything they do?" Sharpe asked,
half-heartedly. "Must be a serious paradigm shift over there for that to
have happened."
"With all the crap that the Federation council is pulling we're crossing are
Ts and dotting our Is so we don't give them reason to cut more of our
budget." Tucker said with a slight chuckle.
"I suppose that's fair enough." Sharpe said, then shuffled through his
paperwork. "I was going to task the Atlantia with a humanitarian relief
mission, but I guess I can reassign that to the Melbourne, and delay the
survey of the new Quasar in the Vigos Cluster... Yes, I think I can work
around your request. It'll be tough on resource allocation, but I guess you
people have your reasons for stealing one of my significant assets."
"It's important and we'll fill you in on the details when we can." Tucker
said in his strong southern twang.
"You are aware that the Atlantia is bringing the USS Kingston in under tow,
correct?" Sharpe asked.
"No I was not. Is there a reason they're towing the USS Kingston back?"
Tucker asked.
"There appears to have been some issues with the CO and XO of the Kingston,
but they're under control now." Sharpe said, unwilling to reveal classified
information over an open COMM channel. "Once the Kingston's back, I'll
release the Atlantia to you."
"Much appreciated General." Tucker said signing off.

Coop looked at the chronometer on his desk, "I think we should check in with
General Sharpe...see who we're turning the Kingston and her crew over to..."
"I think that would be a wise move sir." Lauren said leaning back and
getting a little bit more comfortable. "Oh and the MACO Lt says that the
Kingston crew is cooperating and not making any trouble for the MACOs."
Coop nodded "I saw that, I also saw that members of the Kingston crew helped
restore life support as well...very benevolent of them."
"They did...but seeing as it was beneficial to everyone and I'm sure the
Lieutenant used his persuasive skills to get it done as well."
Lauren said giving Coop a off sided grin.
Aurora looked up from the PADD. "Do not hold the crew responsible for their
Captain's actions, Commander," she said to Lauren. "The Academy trains us
to follow orders from our Captains, to trust their words.
If they were told by Pullings that Starfleet ordered them with this task,
why should they question him?"
Lauren nodded it made sense, but at the same time she felt like someone
within the Kingston's command team should've sensed something was afoul.
"Well I guess it's not up to us to decide seeing that JAG will most likely
be taking over."
Just than the large screen on the wall blinked too life changing from the
Federation symbol to the face of General Sharpe.
"I hope I'm not interrupting." Sharpe said, frowning.
"We were just discussing the actions that the Kingston did and how this
could've gone down." Lauren said giving the General a nod.
"Well, speculation isn't going to sort it out, is it, Commander?" Sharpe
scowled. "Anyway, I have new orders for you, once you've dropped the
Kingston at 514."
"Already sir?" Lauren asked shocked they had been out for several months and
now they were being sent out right after delivering the Kingston.
"Not my doing, Commander." Sharpe said. "You've been selected by JSOC
themselves for a top end priority mission, so classified, I'm not allowed to
know what it is you're doing - only that they want you, and that I have to
cope without one of my more important starships for an indeterminate amount
of time."
~JSOC?~ Lauren thought remembering back to her command courses along with
her startops courses and it finally hit her, ~Joint special operations
command. Interesting they were usually doing things with MACOs, Intelligence
or First Force or all three.~ "So where are we being sent?"
"Farius System." Sharpe said. "Once you're there, you'll receive further
instructions."
Lauren just nodded, "understood sir. Are we to report to you or JSOC while
on this mission?"
"You're seconded to JSOC for the entirety of your mission, Commander."
Sharpe said. "You'll get your marching orders from them."
"Understood." Lauren said again. And with that meeting concluded and
the officers went about their duties.
