"Commander Hill....I've got something interesting that you might want
to see." One of the junior analysts said standing up from his work
station and ushering over the intelligence advisor for that shift.
"What do you've son?" Tucker asked walking over PaDD in hand with
other "interesting" information most of it not so much. Technically it
was all important but most of it was just small stuff usually if there
was something big planning the chatter would happen several hours
before it was gonna happen or at most away before.
"Looks like the Emerald Empresses has come out of hiding." Evans said
showing some chatter, "within 72 hrs three freighters all hauling ship
components along with alloys went missing along the Farius Prime and
Bajor. Theres no confirmed reports that the Syndicate are behind this
none of our operatives on Farius Prime have reported any chatter."
Tucker just nodded looking at the report, "what ships do we've in the area?"
"None at the moment...but the closest one would be the USS Atlantia
that'll be arriving at SB 514 but they're requesting a fews of leave."
Evans said pulling up the location of all Federation ships (not
including the intelligence based ships). "Should we run this by
Admiral Douglas?"
"Yes but I will do that Ensign. And while you're at it get me anything
you've on this Emerald Empresses if I'm remembering this correctly no
one has actually seen her." Tucker said turning and heading over to
his office so he could contact Vice Admiral Douglas. If the Syndicate
was popping there heads back up this wasn't good news the Federation
and StarFleet have extended themselves so far that they were having
issues patrolling the inner systems let alone the out systems.
Vice Admiral Douglas was at about that time reviewing the latest intelligence reports he'd received on the USS Viminal via Starfleet Intelligence HQ. The Viminal was en route to the Gamma Quadrant but that didn't mean he could let any of this slip. The notes he was making were interrupted by the comm in his ready room going off.
"Yes?" he answered, being met with the voice of the ships XO. "Admiral, we're receiving a communication from Trinity Tower routed through headquarters. Commander Hill."
Douglas nodded and sorted out his notes so he could return to them after the call, "Put it through." this was not uncommon when he was aboard his flagship. Very few people in Starfleet Intelligence knew the exact locations of all their ships and even fewer were aware of the movements of the flagship. Most of the time people didn't even know he was off world.
"Commander Hill, what's the news?" the Admiral inquired when the man's face appeared on the screen. No one ever called from Trinity Tower just to say hello after all.
"Three freighters have gone missing in the Farius System. We believe it's the work of the Emerald Empresses but we can't make sure." Tucker said sending the report over.
Douglas groaned a little bit, pulling up the report, "Her again..." he had a quick look, "I'll set my people to work on the area... see what we can shake loose."
