Ricky was in his quarters on the USS Freyja they had just completed the
reconstruction Veloz Prime was completed they were heading back to SB 514
for some supplies and figure out what there next assignment was going to be.
He head heard that Carrie Eight was a success in the sense of rescuing
General Towers and defeating the Jem'Hadar rogue cell but not rescuing the
hostages.
"Captain, you're receiving a hail from General Sharpe, marked urgent."
Reported the officer on the CONN.
"Send it to my quarters." Ricky said rubbing his eyes as he set down an
article on terraforming. The Federation hasn't done a whole lot of
terraforming mainly with all the budget cuts and funds going else where and
also it seemed that the Federation was slowing down on it's colonizing.
"Good Evening Captain." Sharpe said, as the screen changed to show the man.
"General, what can I do for you?" Ricky asked deciding to jump right to the
point.
"We've liberated the marine base on Carrie Eight, but we did kind of have to
destroy most of it to do it." Sharpe said. "I need you and your people to
get in there and rebuild."
Ricky nodded, "figured as much. How much of the buildings are left?"
He asked assuming either it was completely destroyed or if they were lucky
most of the foundation would still be present and they could build from
there.
Richard smirked. "Well... not all that much, if I'm honest. The Jem`Hadar
really didn't want to give us back the base after we stormed it - so I'm
afraid we threw just about every bit of ordinance we brought with at the
main command buildings."
Ricky smiled and nodded, "alright I'll pull the schematics of the old
building along with the surrounding buildings. We've also got some other
treats that'll make Fleet command happy. It's gonna take us a couple of days
to get to Carrie Eight what do you have in the sense of the Corps of
Engineers?"
"Well, you should know that, Captain. It is your division after all." Sharpe
smirked. "I'm sure we can find a team from the Corps of Engineers to help
you out."
Smirking, "that is true........also until we get there if you could have
whatever MACO units you're having remain behind help with moving debris that
would much appreciated."
"I'm sure Colonel Walker would love you if you asked him to have some of his
MACO's help move boulders." Sharpe smirked. "There should be a company of
combat engineers temporarily attached to the 92nd who're holding the fort at
the moment. You can use them."
"I'm sure he will......I'll get into contact with him as soon as I'm done
here. How many MACOs, StarFleet and civilians are we thinking are going to
be stationed here?" Ricky asked knowing that'll effect how the buildings are
constructed.
"We'll probably have to station a larger garrison than we had before. Design
for a Division. We might not put that much there, but go big, we can always
underuse." Sharpe said.
Nodding Ricky made some notes, "alright.......I'll have the plans to you
probably a couple of days after getting there. I'm hoping this'll be fast
but it'll depend on how long it'll take to move all the debris and all
that."
"Make sure you have the engineers check for UXB's, Captain. Last thing I
want are more deaths." Sharpe said, warningly.
"Of course General." Ricky said knowing that the Waverrider shuttle would
come in handy for that assignment or at least the modified one on the
Freyja.
"Alright, keep me apprised. Sharpe out."
With that Ricky closed the channel and sent a message to the chief
duty officer to set course for Carrie Eight and also a message to the
Commander of the 92nd to have the MACO engineers start removing the
rebel and searching for UXB's.
