Tucker was busy going over reports from all the sec ion chiefs throughout the inner worlds of the Federation intelligence and StarFleet have been so focused on the fringe borders that they've created with their expansive nature that a lot of the chatter from the inner worlds was forgotten. But they had people on those planets gathering information and sending in reports that were either just over looked or barely skimmed.
"Hey Tucker have you looked at the chatter from the traders along the DMZ and Cardassian/Federation border?" LtCmdr Preston Canter asked looking at his friend.
"Yeah...what the hell is going on I've never seen this much activity in this area." Tucker said, "I mean not since the Maquis pretty much disbanding after the first Dominion War."
"I know...but than again leading up to and just for a short period of time after the Dominion war that border was heavily patrolled now look at it we can barely keep two ships patrolling the DMZ." Preston said shaking his head and taking a sip of his drink. "And now with the after math of Carrie Eight majority of the fleet has been sent to the Gamma Quadrant."
"Any chance you think that was the point of Carrie Eight pull majority of the fleet into the Gamma Quadrant and than make an attack on the Alpha Quadrant?" Tucker asked knowing that was a long shot but you never knew.
"Maybe....but who on this side would even think about trying to push into the heartland of the Federation?" Preston asked.
"True but we better keep an eye on that flag anything red coming out of the Alpha quadrant that has anti-StarFleet or Federation rhetoric it's a start." Tucker said.
"Copy that it might be smart and have some muscle checking some things out as well." Preston said knowing that he had some pull with some of the MACO commanders.
"Okay....I'll need to check with the Admiral first but that might be a good idea." Hill added. With that they both headed back to work.
