Sharpe watched the starbase grow larger in the viewer as the USS Bozeman, the second ship he’d caught since leaving Carrie 8, arrived at Starbase Zetari. He’d gone on a more circular route, to inspect some other facilities on his way back. Things appeared to be settling down again, apart from the USS Kingston situation, which, for now, was under control by the USS Atlantia.

 

If truth be told, Sharpe had been avoiding returning to Zetari, as he knew what awaited him there. It wasn’t every day that marines under your personal command shot at their own people, and he knew that the Zetarians would blame him for it, especially Kassi’s ‘boyfriend’, the annoying ‘flyboy’, Lt Douglas. However, Richard needed to return, and he couldn’t be craven about it. A young MACO was being held in the brig for the shooting, and was being guarded for his own sake. It had been an accident, everyone knew, but that wouldn’t soothe ruffled feathers. He’d heard that Lt Douglas was looking to lay attempted murder charges on the poor boy.

 

Sharpe was also heading to Zetari as the Cortez was now docked there, with Admiral Zina in her sickbay. He wanted to make sure that the Fleet Commander was alright, before he did anything else. He also wanted to check up on Kassi himself, hoping that he’d be able to do so. Although frankly, anyone stupid enough to accost a Lieutenant General and Deputy Fleet Commander, in the same person, on a Starfleet facility, was either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid.

 

The ship docked with the station, and he could put it off no longer. He had things he needed to do, and made his way into the station.
