Current draft for the two VAHF videos:
Outline for Duy-Loan Le's Video Intro (About 5 mins. Video will be in
1080i HDV)
-Video starts out with VAHF and VCSA logo (VAHF then VCSA). If logos
are not
available, then "VAHF" with "Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation"
and "VCSA" with "Vietnamese's Culture and Science Association" will be
shown with the aid of Adobe After Effects. These logos will appear for
about 5-8 seconds.
-"Strong" music is played along with the two logos for about 15-20
seconds then fade
out.
-After the logos are introduced, images of Duy Loan Le will appear on
screen. Possible
inclusion of audio as well depending on how it all works out. Along
with these images will be sentences and lines that will help to
portray Duy Loan Le. This process continues until the music fades out
on the 20 seconds mark.
-After the first 20 seconds, voice-over will start. Narration is done
by Khanh Bui.
Narration is complemented by interview answers from Duy Loan Le. From
here to the end of the video, contents will include Duy Loan Le's
upbringing, her overcoming the challenges in the United States, and
her thought on the success she's had.
Narration after the 20 seconds mark:
"In 1975, after the fall of South Vietnam, Duy Loan Le and her family,
along with tens of thousands of other Vietnamese, fled away from the
communist regime in search of freedom and democracy at a very young
age.
-20 seconds: Duy Loan will talk about what brought her to America,
when she came to America, what it was like coming to America, what her
dad told her when she was young
-"Duy Loan graduated valedictorian from Hastings High School in 1979.
Three years later, she graduated Magna Cum Laude, receiving her first
college degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas.
-20 seconds: Duy Loan will talk about the obstacles she had to
overcome in High School, the roles her family played in helping her
overcoming those obstacles, and her thoughts on receiving her first
college degree
-"After graduation, Duy Loan worked as a DRAM design engineer for
Texas Instruments, where she had created over 20 patents and had
received many accolades for her great works. In 2001, Duy Loan was
inducted into the Hall of Fame of Women in Technology and in 2002, Duy-
Loan became the 1st Asian and the 1st women to be elected Texas
Instruments Senior Fellow
-20 seconds: Duy Loan will talk about some of her patents, her work as
an engineer. She will talk about family and work with respect to the
Vietnamese traditions and background and what the accolades mean for
her.
-"Now, even with a busy life schedule, Duy Loan still dedicates her
time to giving back to the community and participates in charitable
causes. She values greatly the opportunity she had, and works hard to
try and give others the same opportunity that was once given to her"
-30 seconds: Duy Loan talks about her community involvement, what her
approach is for giving back, her reflection on her life and why she's
feels it's important to give back.
Outline for Truc Ho's Video Intro (About 3 mins.Video will be in 1080i
HDV)
-Truc Ho's first 20 seconds of video will resemble the style of Duy
Loan Le. The
difference will come in after the first 20 seconds, when voice over
begins. Since there will be no video of an actual interview with Truc
Ho, voice over will be the only form of audio to tell Truc Ho's story,
complemented by pictures and other visuals. Possible usage of video
clips from Asia Entertainment productions is expected. Voice-over will
be accompanied by soft background music.
Voice over through narration after the 20 seconds mark:
-"Truc Ho was born in 1964, in Saigon, Vietnam (his family picture
when he
was young if possible). Determined to get away from communist Vietnam,
Truc
Ho fled on foot to Thailand. There, he was helped by the Red Cross and
later was placed in a UN refugee camp in Thailand.
-Truc Ho arrived in the United States in 1981. He graduated from
Fountain Valley High School in 1983. Having played music since the age
of 6, Truc Ho had developed a strong passion for music. He went on and
attended California State University, majoring in music, and later
teamed up with Asia Entertainment in 1985 to help produce some of
their most successful and beloved songs. Truc Ho is now the musical
director for Asia Entertainment, a role he's assumed since the late
1980s. He is also the CEO of SBTN, the first 24-hr Vietnamese
Television Network outside of Vietnam.
-Using his presence within the Vietnamese community, Truc Ho has
headed many charitable fund-raising events, most recent was a fund-
raiser for Katrina Hurricane Victims, in which over $300,000 was
raised. Truc Ho is a strong advocate for helping to retain the
Vietnamese values in future Vietnamese generations in the United
States and around the world. He believes it is important for future
generations to understand the Vietnamese history and to never forget
the sacrifices that others gave for the opportunities that they have
today.
-Possible requests from Truc Ho:
1) His family picture when he was young (and of himself only of
possible)
2) His picture from UN refugee camp in Thailand
3) His high school graduation pictures
4) Pictures from his college time, if he participated in any musical
events in college. A picture with one of his professors.
5) Pictures of him writing songs for Asia Entertainment and/or working
with other singers/and or writers.
6) Pictures of him that relate to SBTN
7) Representative pictures from some fund raising activities
8) If he could provide some videos on his trip to Philippines with
SBTN
9) Pictures from his community participations that he can share (such
as the Vietnamese War Memorial)
