Vision states that Tommy is being held at the facility, presumably under court order, because he "accidentally" vaporized his school. When they release him from his cell, it is immediately noted that Tommy, a white-haired speedster, bears a striking resemblance to Billy ("twin-like") and Quicksilver, sharing the latter's hair color and similar abilities.[volume & issue needed]
Speed is a mutant with the power to move and accelerate at speeds far beyond those of normal human beings. His physiology is designed to move at high speeds which also grants him superhuman reflexes, agility, and durability. This durability is limited to impact forces, so bullets, energy blasts, and other piercing attacks are capable of harming him. It is also likely that Speed possesses a high amount of superhuman strength in his lower body, allowing him to lift around 1 ton, while his upper body is strengthened to the point where he can lift around 800 lbs. Although his top speed is unknown, he can exceed the speed of sound (about 1,225 km/h, or 761 mph) and resist the effects of friction, reduced oxygen, and kinetic impact while moving at those speeds. In Young Avengers Presents #3 he asserts that he is "Quicksilver fast", shown running from the eastern seaboard of the United States to Genosha, an island off the east coast of Africa, as well as search the entire island for anyone living there in the same amount of time it takes Wiccan to teleport the same distance. This indicates that Speed is fast enough to run across the surface tension of a body of water without sinking. In addition, his mind can operate in an accelerated state, allowing him to read in super speed and remember everything he's seen.
Unlike his Earth-616 counterpart, Tommy Maximoff inherited his mystical abilities from his mother the Scarlet Witch rather than his uncle's super speed. As a student of Doctor Strange, Tommy was able to perform various magical feats, including concussive mystical bolts and creating force fields.[35]
Speed can move, think and react at superhuman speeds. His entire body is adapted towards the rigors of high-speed running, including his cardiovascular and respiratory systems. He metabolizes an estimated 95% of caloric energy content of food (normal human use is about 25%). His enhanced musculature makes him virtually tireless due to his metabolism not producing fatigue-building poisons. His body constantly expels waste products during his accelerated respiration through exhalation. His tendons have the tensile strength of spring steel and his bones can withstand high-speed impacts because they are significantly more durable than normal calcium.
Speed can run at supersonic speeds, and is capable of short bursts of speed well beyond supersonic levels. At his average speed, he can run for about four hours until he needs to replenish his energy. He can run up vertical surfaces before gravity overtakes him and run across liquid by moving too fast to break its surface tension. By rapidly vibrating his hands in close proximity, Speed creates hyperkinetic vibrations he can direct at a target, accelerating and destabilizing its atomic matter until it explodes.

He is a superhuman teenager who is the reincarnated son of Vision and the Scarlet Witch, and the older twin brother of Billy Kaplan. His powers are based on his uncle, Quicksilver, gifted with super speed. He was a member of the Champions, the Young Avengers, and the Secret Avengers.
After he accidentally "vaporized" his school with his super speed, Tommy was arrested and sent to a high-powered correction facility that dampened Tommy's powers. He was trapped there for months and intended to be turned into a weapon before being rescued by the Young Avengers. The team were searching for Hulkling after he was captured, and Jonas Vision sent them there to find recruits as Iron Lad had intended.
Before Mar-Vell could destroy the engine with her Kree Pistol, she was shot and killed by Yon-Rogg. Danvers, in shock of the death of her mentor, grabbed the pistol from her hand and aimed it at Yon-Rogg. After a brief standoff, Danvers fired at the light-speed engine, destroying it.
Later, the Skrull General Talos would search for the light-speed engine to use it as Mar-Vell has originally intended, which was to help the Skrulls escape the Kree. They staged an ambush and captured Vers. In the ensuing interrogation, they dug through her memories and figured out that Mar-Vell had been operating on Earth.[1]
Speed is simply how fast a character can move in a given amount of time. There are five types of speed used for VS purposes: Attack Speed, Combat Speed, Reaction Speed, Travel Speed, and Flight Speed. The term "Speed" normally refers to Combat Speed.
The speed at which an attack moves. For example, X character is hypersonic, but he can do an attack that is a natural beam of light, the speed for the attack is different from the speed of the user, hence the attack would be lightspeed even if its user isn't.
Reaction speed is the speed at which a character can react to an event or action. This usually only grants a short movement upon reaction, whereas several movements at the same speed switch it to combat speed.
Immeasurable (Movement beyond linear time. This is why the speed cannot be measured. Given that S = D/T, if T is undefined the speed formula cannot be applied. This is the same reason why multiple temporal dimensions also grant immeasurable speed. For further information, see note 5 below.)
Omnipresent (This is technically a state of being, rather than a speed, but has consequences for combat similar to that of a speed statistic. For practical comparisons, each case requires more detailed consideration.)
The speed tiers used have intersecting limits, and this may be confusing to some members. The divisions are made based on Exclusive Form grouping, in which the true lower limit is the given lower limit and the true upper limit is just short of the given upper limit.
Kindly note that MFTL+ is a very broad category which starts from 1000x Speed of Light up to infinity. As such, MFTL+ characters need not be even remotely on a similar level of speed. In fact, the difference may be as great as the magnitude of difference between MFTL and regular human level.
While Omnipresence is, strictly speaking, not speed, it is listed as a speed statistic due to behaving in combat similarly to how normal speed would. For example, a being that is omnipresent within 3-D space would win every race against an opponent with normal speed, due to already being at the goal by the time the race starts. In addition, an attack from an omnipresent being is unavoidable with normal speed due to the attack being in every location in the universe at once.
A being that is not only omnipresent throughout space, but also time, would also be able to react to every attack from a being with normal speed before the opponent would even begin to throw the attack. This is the case because such a being would exist throughout all of time, experiencing past, presence and future at once while not being bound to the normal flow of time.
Characters that are able to move backwards and forwards through time by movement alone qualify for immeasurable speed. However, due to general inconsistencies, and the fact that several fictions grant this ability to any character able to move FTL, they may be assigned an additional, independent, speed rating for the ability. This should preferably be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
90% of your speed comes from practicing muscle memory. The first thing that will help you get speed is to build solid muscle memory of the scale. The result of muscle memory is that your muscles take over because they know how the scale feels. You play so fast that your eyes and brain cannot keep up, so the only way to get this kind of speed is through muscle memory. Consider the following advice:
Speed (real name Thomas "Tommy" Shephard) is a fictional character from Marvel Comics. He was born from the reincarnated soul of Tommy Maximoff, the son of Scarlet Witch and Vision and the twin brother of Billy Kaplan/Wiccan. He inherited super speed, a quality shared by his former reincarnated self's uncle, Quicksilver.
After accidentally "vaporized" his school with his super speed, Tommy was arrested and sent to a high-powered correction facility that dampened Tommy's powers. He was trapped there for months and intended to be turned into a weapon before being rescued by the Young Avengers.
The Speed Force is a cosmic energy field and force based around velocity and movement, and one of the Seven Forces of the Universe. It is the representation of reality in motion, being the very cosmic force that pushes space and time forward. It grants all speedsters their power. Several speedsters have merged with it, including Barry Allen, Johnny Quick, and Max Mercury. Eobard Thawne stated that at its core, the Speed Force is equivalent to time itself, describing it as existence moving through reality, kinetic energy, and temporal energy.[6][39]
Shortly thereafter, Inertia; who had lost his connection to the Speed Force when Bart absorbed it, was forced to use Velocity 9 to maintain his super-speed. Inertia built a machine in Los Angeles which was designed to transfer the Speed Force from Bart to himself. However, the machine also threatened to cause an explosion which would have resulted in the deaths of millions. Bart sacrificed himself distracting Inertia and a group of Rogues while Valerie shut it down.[4]
