Prof. Kinaia has numerous journal publications, chapter books and research in the fields of immediate implant placement, soft tissue augmentation and bone grafting around dental implants and treatment of gummy smile using esthetic crown lengthening and surgical lip repositioning. He has served on the Peer Review Panel of the Journal of Periodontology and Clinical Advances in Periodontics as well as an ad hoc editor for the Journal of Dentistry and Oral Biology. His areas of interest include dental implants, esthetic crown lengthening and advanced soft tissue and bone grafting. He lectures nationally and internationally on the latest trends in periodontics and dental implants.
Peri-implant disease is an increasing finding around dental implants. Many studies attempted to evaluate grafting procedures to correct peri-implant bone loss but there is no consistency in the method or material that should be used for an ideal outcome. This study evaluates the use of amnion-chronion membrane to enhance bone healing for peri-implantitis patients. This membrane contains multiple growth factors that could accelerate wound healing for predictable results.
Bassam Hassan is a prosthodontist recognized by the European Prosthodontics Association (EPA) and the Dutch-Flemish Society of Restorative Dentistry (NVVRT), an implant surgeon recognized by the Dutch Society of Oral Implantology (NVOI) and an academic researcher in Digital Implants Prosthodontics. He has published more than 50 articles in cited international journals, co-authored three books on digital dentistry and has presented in more than 100 national and international venues. He has participated in several projects with industry leading corporations and has participated in several international clinical trials. He has a Master degree in dentistry from the University of Amsterdam (ACTA), a Master degree in Medical Imaging and CAD-CAM from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), a Master degree in Prosthodontics from the Medical University of Vienna and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam (ACTA). He worked for three years as a fulltime assistant professor at the department of general and specialized dentistry at ACTA and for three years as an assistant professor at the department of Implantology and Prosthetic Dentistry at ACTA. He is currently employed as a Prosthodontist and as an implant surgeon in a private hospital in Amsterdam and as a visiting professor at the department of Prosthodontics at UCM University. His research interests include digital implants planning, digital occlusion and articulation, integrating multi-modalities (facial, intraoral, CBCT and jaw motion data) for planning complex prosthetic cases and developing digital solutions for dental education. Nanobiomaterials in Clinical Dentistry, Second Edition shows how a variety of nanomaterials are being used to solve problems in clinical dentistry. In addition, two winners of the Best Clinical Case in Aesthetics HEAPS Award were recognized: Clement Kairouz, '19, in the Undergraduate Clinical Case category, and Wanhau Zou, International Aesthetics Program, in the PG/Advanced Standing Clinical Case category.
