Star Wars is overflowing with important themes and lessons we can translate and use in real life. Many of those big ideas are captured in a few lines of eminently quotable dialogue. Also, the saga has a lot of less serious one-liners that are just as memorable and applicable. I find myself working quotes from both sides of the coin into everyday conversations often, and I bet I'm not alone. It's more fun if the person I'm talking to gets the reference, but recognition isn't necessary. The worst I've received for using a Star Wars line is a weird look, and I don't mind those. Here are a small selection of quotes from Star Wars that I've found are perfectly suited for use in this galaxy:

Before his mysterious death in Baltimore and massive posthumous success, there were many experiences in his life that inspired his macabre writing style. But Epicurus the philosopher was much more well-measured. As the above quote suggests, he thought living well was a matter of having command of one's own desires, so that you don't spend your time on earth chasing after things you'll never be able to attain.
However, Democritus's theories on the universe weren't only scientific, but theoretical, too. He's remembered for a number of ideas about life, including this notable quote: "Everything existing in the universe is the fruit of chance and necessity."
He spent much of his time thinking about the place of humans in the universe, as well as the notion of freedom and happiness. One of his most famous quotes is: "There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will."
Because of his immense popularity during his lifetime and since, numerous sayings have been ascribed to Henry Ford. However, many of these quotes are difficult to properly verify or attribute. Work on collecting and authenticating Henry Ford quotations was begun at Ford Motor Company, possibly as early as the mid-1920s. Staff, interns, and volunteers of the Benson Ford Research Center at The Henry Ford have continued this work, resulting in the list below (also available as a spreadsheet download.).
The list includes quotations that have been traced to a primary source or a reliable secondary source. Examples of reliable secondary sources would be a published interview with or other direct quotations of Henry Ford in newspapers contemporary to him, including but in no way limited to house organs such as the Ford Times and Ford News, or a book whose ghostwriting or collaboration was authorized by Henry Ford. I knew, before starting to write this post, what we all know about Henry Ford: founder of Ford Motor Company, seminal proponent of mass production in the form of the assembly line, creator of the Model T and author of the tart line, "you can have it in any color you want, as long as it is black." Then one of my readers, Sagar Adhikari, shared a great Henry Ford quote in a comment he made on one of my posts. I was intrigued, and started doing a bit of research.

The secret of biography resides in finding the link between talent and achievement. A biography seems irrelevant if it doesnt discover the overlap between what the individual did and the life that made this possible. Without discovering that, you have shapeless happenings and gossip.
