I am trying to install a facebook pixel on my site. I pinched some code from another thread and tried implementing it along with the code for the pixel from Facebook but no luck (screenshot of error attached). Any advice?

I'm having the same issue after uninstalling the FB app and trying to re-install it. I've signed out and signed back in (Shopify, FB etc.), tried different browsers and cleared my cache, but the error keeps appearing.
If your company falls under the CCPA, or you want any of your California customers to be under Limited Data Use with Facebook, you should enable Limited Data Use for any of your ad accounts with a pixel that you've installed through HubSpot. Learn more about Facebook's Limited Data Use.
How do you set up the facebook pixel properly so that it tracks all conversions on our site? Right now we have our facebook pixel added to the proper section on the Square settings - but we can see that it's not working on the Facebook backend. Is there a way to manually add the code into our site?
You can test to see if your Pixel is working by installing the Google Chrome Extension, Meta Pixel Helper. Once you have that downloaded, go to the URL you created the Pixel for and click on the Pixel Helper Extension in the top right corner and cross-check to make sure the Pixel ID matches the one you created.
But the beauty is that for these standard events, there is no coding necessary! The Page View event is written into the base code of your Pixel and tracks any time someone visits a page on your site that has the Pixel installed.
In this guide, I will show you how to install Meta Pixel with Google Tag Manager (not only basic pageviews but also other things, like events). The topic is quite extensive. Therefore, I recommend buckling up and diving into this. Also, consider subscribing to my newsletter to stay up-to-date with GTM.
Back in the older days (pre-2019), the only way to install Facebook Pixel via Google Tag Manager was by using the Custom HTML tag template. This meant working directly with JavaScript code, editing it a bit, etc.
A new screen will come up, asking you whether you want to install it manually or via a partner integration. Choose Manually add pixel code to website, and the browser will redirect to a new page.
Excellent writeup. Question if you have time: I created a PageView tag to send data from my dataLayer. I see when testing I get two page views, one with no data (perhaps one that facebook sends automatically?) and one with my data. Should I somehow disable the one without data, and if so, how would I do that? I'm using gtm-templates-simo-ahava.
excellent article! thank you very much! but I have a question. I have to set several facebook pixels that must activate based on certain keywords in the URL. how can I manage them better? I'm currently using 5 pixel variables with 5 regex tables. but it's a huge job since I always have to add new pixel codes for my company. is there a way to create such a condition with regex table compatible with gtm and facebook pixel? example: If the URL contains HOME, then activate these pixels 111111,22222,3333 if the URL contains GARDEN then it shows these pixels 4444,5555,6666 etc? I wish I could manage multiple pixels per page by managing them all from a single regex table. is it possible in your opinion? Thank you a lot
Great article. I found this super helpful. I think it might be worth including some information about how to properly pass an Event ID using the facebookarchive GTM client-side tag when Facebook Conversion API deduplication is needed for things like Lead events. Mistakenly I tried passing my ID using the tag's "Object Properties" section. But, what I should have been using was the dedicated "Event ID" field under the "More Settings" config section. Other people might make that mistake too.
You will now see the Meta Pixel code that needs to be added to the "Header code" of your funnel pages. If you want to install the code to all the pages of all of your funnels, you can put it in the "Tracking Code" field under "Sales funnel settings"
2.5 Copy the code, install it on your website as mentioned above, and then click on "Continue".
Now you will be given the option to activate "Automatic advanced matching", this is optional and it is up to you.
2.6 Click on "Continue" to proceed.
You can now set up events on your website by clicking on "Open event setup tool".
The event setup tool doesn't always work and in this example, we will be manually adding the event code to the "Meta Pixel code".
2.7 For the manual option, click on "Install events using code" and you will be redirected to a page that shows you how to add events to the "Meta Pixel code".
Now that your Pixel has been set up and installed, you can test it to see whether it is working.
Click on "Test events", enter the URL of your website in the field below labeled "Test browser events" and click on "Open Website"
I have installed both the latest versions of the WooCommerce plugin (v5.1.0) and Facebook for WordPress plugin (v2.3.2) and then I go to Facebook Business App Store and try to install WooCommerce Integration to Facebook by Automattic but I continually get the following message :
First, know that there are a million and one ways to install your pixel code manually. The goal: Add the base pixel code immediately before the closing HEAD tag on every page of your website.
2. Visit the page where you have installed the Facebook pixel. A popup will indicate how many pixels it finds on the page. The popup will also tell you if your pixel is working properly. If not, it will provide error information so you can make corrections.
I do not know how this works, but in the docs to facebook API they are mentioned that you can use the javascript sdk.
Maybe you use a cordova plugin as alternative:

I install the unique shortcodes for sure. I teach corporate clients and entrepreneurs how to do this on WordPress, but I outsource for SquareSpace. Since I do not DO the client work anymore because my time is better spent in consulting and strategic audience formation, I am looking for resources to send clients to for SquareSpace.
Hi Claire, please help me!! I have installed the facebook pixel as per the instructions, but the Pixel Helper says there is a problem. I have just noticed that this comes up on your website as well! Is it not working correctly? How do I know?
To collect data on a particular event, you will need to install the small piece of code corresponding to the desired action (e.g. add to cart, completed registration etc.) inside the base code of your Facebook pixel, on the page of your choice.
With the help of Facebook ads, Spoon, a Korean radio app was able to increase their monthly active users by 54% and with that their overall revenue grew by 92%. Similarly, HealthifyMe, a health app was able to increase their monthly install volumes by over 5x while achieving a 4x increase in return on ad spend.
High competition across all the major app stores has made it incredibly difficult for apps to get large organic download numbers. As a result, many of the companies are moving towards paid user acquisitions, and the Facebook mobile app install ads seem to be the clear solution.
For mobile app install ads, you can choose to pay per link click, per install, per app event (engagement), or per 10-second video views. The most popular of the lot are obviously pay per link click and pay per install.
Facebook allows you to choose how much you want to pay for each install or link click. The bid value for users is set by Facebook according to their behavior. For instance, a user who matches your target audience, but never downloads any apps through Facebook ads has a lower bid value as compared to users who download most apps they discover through ads.
The target cost option is only available for app events and app installs, and with this option, Facebook automatically gives your ad an average bidding value. Now if the average bidding value is $3 per install, then Facebook will seek for results close to that value, even if lesser bid values are available.
For free apps, you should be aiming for a cost per app install that allows you to generate enough free users to get one paid user conversion with an average lifetime value equal to or above your cost.
You can also use the chart above to see what the average Facebook cost per mobile app install is and compare it to yours, or you can join our Facebook community where you can ask folks in your same industry what their CPI is to get a baseline and tips on how to reduce your cost per mobile app install.

If you have previously launched an app for your business and got success with a specific category of audience, you choose them first. However, if you do not have much idea about who all are likely to install and use your app, you could test it on various categories of audiences.
