The Transportation Research Board (TRB) 99th Annual Meeting will be held January 12–16, 2020, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington, D.C. The ABJ95 Visualization in Transportation Committee meeting will be on Tuesday from 1:30 – 5:30. The Visualization Lightning Talks will be on Monday from 3:45 – 5:30 . These are a series of short presentations covering innovations and new technologies for Visualization in Transportation. The session will include talks on all aspects of visualization including System Performance, BIM for Infrastructure, Data Visualization and Visual Analytics, Simulators and Real-time interactive tools like Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. The Talks will be limited to 3-5 minutes to keep the session fast paced and lively.

Multimodal ‘big data’ transportation network map in development
A team from the University of Arkansas will make use of ‘big data’ taken from the Internet of Things to create real-time, interactive maps and other geospatial information that will help government agencies and industry plan, build and maintain the USA’s transportation infrastructure.
Data collection project mapping 28,000 miles of Barcelona’s roads daily
Spain’s road safety authority, the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), and the City of Barcelona together with Mobileye have presented data from the first two months of a project that is collecting street information to improve their performance, now and into the future.
