Interactive Dashboards Enhance Truck Route Planning in Colorado [Article]
“If we don’t communicate [restrictions] as effectively as possible, we’re really putting a lot of people in danger.” Colorado DOT developed eight different dashboards to display various regulations like weight limits for bridges and approved routes for transporting hazardous materials. The maps in these dashboards include key roadway information, such as width restrictions, full road closures, and temporary construction disruptions.

Navigation Tools Could be Pointing Drivers to the Shortest Route – But not the Safest
Comparing routes between five metropolitan areas, Texas A&M researchers found navigation systems often guide drivers to take paths that carry a greater risk of crashes.
A suite of public dashboards where users can access data at both campus and university-wide information, spanning seven categories of information: Source Energy Usage, Building-level Energy Use Intensity, Procurement, Transportation, Waste, Water, and Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
