Transportation Visualization in the News

Real-time Deer Incidents & Wildlife-Vehicle Conflict (WVC) Hotspots [Map]

University of California Davis developed a web-based map of Real-time Deer Incidents & Wildlife-Vehicle Conflict hotspots, with live data feeds from the California Roadkill Observation System (CROS) and the California Highway Incident Processing System (CHIPS).  Observation details include type of animal and/or species found, where the road-kill was located, when it was found, pictures of the road-kill, and any additional details about road or traffic conditions. The system then displays a summary of this information for different animal groups across the state.

Flooding Public Information Map

ESRI's Flooding Public Information Map helps the agencies prepare for flooding response with live feeds and sensor data. It is not intended to replace authoritative government websites but rather to provide situational awareness. It contains Live Feeds from the Living Atlas including Stream Gauges, National Water Model Hourly and Daily forecasts, and Forecast Precipitation.
