TRB RUC research needs statements call for volunteers

TDM committee members and friends, The MBUF/RUC subcommittee is developing three research needs statements based on the ideas below. If you would like to volunteer to help with one of these please reply just to me and indicate which one.

1.     Lessons learned and forecasts of cost of collection, administration, tech, etc. (operator/state costs). Volunteers so far: Ron Davis, Saad Shbaklo,

 

2. The pros and cons of addressing equity within the MBUF program (or other user fees) vs at a broader policy and revenue level. Volunteers so far: Saad Shbaklo, Michael Iacono

3. Synthesis of privacy and equity approaches used by distance based charging systems globally and among US programs and pilot projects. Volunteers so far: Colleen Gants

Both 1 and 3 sound very interesting to me. But I'd like to help get the answers quickly, rather than write a statement and wait a year or three for results. ;-)

Is there anyone on committee (including friends) who has expertise in these areas? I'd love to talk to them!

I am interested in topic 2, Reminds me that the earned income tax credit was created to address equity concerns when the federal gasoline tax was last increased.
