Friends and Members of the TRB Major Cities Committee,
Many thanks to all of you who joined the Mid-Year Meeting yesterday afternoon! Taking extended time out of your Sunday afternoon to go through our Strategic Plan/Vision document was much appreciated by Rina and the strategic plan subcommittee. Apologies for the early confusion about the call-in number. I hope all who wanted to join were able to connect in the end.
There are several items to follow-up on coming out of the meeting, the most pressing of which relate to the strategic plan. I will have the minutes from the meeting out later this week, but wanted to make sure you knew the upcoming dates first:
Strategic Plan: May 5th deadline! The draft strategic plan was introduced to the committee during the call yesterday. The PowerPoint contains the key elements of the plan and is attached here to facilitate review. The full draft plan is now posted on the committee website (
https://sites.google.com/site/trbabe30/documents - see the 2014 Mid-Year Meeting folder in the document list).
Please review and send comments to Steve Buckley, sbu...@toronto.ca, by Monday, May 5th. You can make the comments in the note section of the PowerPoint.
We are also looking for people to assist with expanding the key research focus areas. Please contact Steve if you are willing to help with this effort.
Other items of note Friday, May 16th: last date to send 1) possible podium session ideas and 2) webinar ideas for TRB’s webinar series to Ema Yamamoto,
ema.ya...@phila.gov.
Start preparing your TRB papers – paper calls are going to be published shortly and authors can start to submit papers as of June 2nd, little more than a month away!
TRB is launching a new platform called “MyTRB” to help coordinate member activities. Information has been sent to all standing committee members, but friends should also check it out –
www.mytrb.org. If you create a login, start by trying to look up a lost password, since TRB has loaded a lot of names into the system and chances are you already have an account set up for you.
Lastly, our website is getting an upgrade – and we want to have a logo to go with it. Details are coming soon, but start thinking about ideas! There will be a blog coming too – let me know if you want to contribute.
Sorry for the long email – thanks for all your help!
Stephanie
