For those following the emerging and innovative transportation space, SAE is launching a new effort to to look at shared and digital mobility, with their first call on November 7 at 11:30 am Eastern Time. See the note below from Prachi Vakharia and the attached letter. If you have questions on that effort, please contact Prachi:
prachiv...@gmail.com.New, innovative and disruptive digital and shared mobility solutions are emerging globally. To enable clarity and collaboration, SAE International is pleased to announce the establishment of the Shared and Digital Mobility Committee. This committee will develop and maintain SAE Standards, Recommended Practices and Information Reports on various topics including, but not limited to:
• Shared mobility technology, solutions and models
• Digital reservation of rides, vehicles, bikes, parking etc.
• Payment integration and new applications
• New Data specifications for mobility
• New Data interchange specifications for mobility
• Accessibility standards
• Telematics
The advancements of shared and digital mobility solutions and services has resulted in an increased number of proposed terms and definitions to describe these options. Currently, many of these terms are not consistently named, defined or used in literature and practice. To address this, the Shared and Digital Mobility Committee plans to develop a glossary of terms and definitions as its initial task.
I personally invite you to join the Shared and Digital Mobility Committee of SAE International in this important work of developing future mobility standards. The first meeting of the committee is scheduled to be on 7 November 2017, at 11:30am (US Eastern = UTC—5).
I have attached an invitation letter outlining the steps to join the committee. Lastly, can you please share this all the members and friends of your TRB committee? You may copy me when you do so, so that I can follow-up accordingly.
Warmly,
PRACHI J. VAKHARIA
