Release of Peer Review Report:
Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Independent Peer Review Committee’s First Letter Report (Desk Scans) Today, Tuesday, April 8, 2014, the TRB will release the first letter report from their independent peer review committee that is looking at the USDOT Truck Size and Weight Limits Study. This first report reviews five preliminary products of the study, called desk scans, which are surveys of past research and analysis methods for estimating the effects of changes in truck size and weight limits in each of five areas: bridges, pavements, truck and rail shares of freight traffic, safety, and enforcement of truck regulations. Transportation Research Board’s Independent Peer Review Committee’s Meeting on Technical Analysis Methods
On Monday, April 14, 2014, the TRB TSW Peer Review Committee will hold a meeting in Washington, D.C.. The meeting will focus on discussing the USDOT Truck Size and Weight Limits Study technical analysis methods with the USDOT Study Team. This discussion is intended to assist the TRB Peer Review Committee in preparing for review of the technical analysis reports to be released by USDOT later this spring. USDOT Comprehensive Truck Size and Weight Limits Study –Third Public Outreach Session (Webinar)
On Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., e.t., USDOT will hold the third public outreach session to provide an update on the MAP-21 Comprehensive Truck Size and Weight Limits Study progress. This session will be held as a Webinar and will include an update on the technical analysis and project schedule. This Webinar will be recorded. Additional Webinar details, including registration information, will be sent prior to the Webinar to individuals who have registered to be on the Comprehensive Truck Size and Weight Limits Study e-mail list. The Webinar information will also be posted on FHWA’s Truck Size and Weight Web site in advance of the Webinar.
