Summertime has officially hit central TX this week, but it has felt like summer for some time now. The rains that pounded SE TX last week, barely hit the Hill Country at all. The rivers are definately low for this time of year, but the fish have still been eating. Sunrise and sunset trips have been rewarding, with cool temps and crushing topwater strikes. The noisy tree cicadas are out in full force and the bass and catfish are looking up near wooded sections for easy meals. Many large Rio Grande cichlids have also been landed. They are quite aggressive now guarding babies. We try not to catch both the male and female off and brood. Just catch one then move on.

I will be speaking at the Fredericksburg Fly Fishing club on Thursday July 13 at 7pm. If you are in the area please stop in.
Now for the really good news!!! VIDEOS!!! Thanks to the tireless work of one Scott Allen, we are now able to offer lo-res video clips of big bass being caught on the Blanco River. Please enjoy them at your leisure and as always....tell a friend!
