One of the rubber davit pads on my inflatable dinghy has become detached.
The glue has become black and somewhat brittle. My dink is PVC and I
believe the weaver patches are hypalon. Weaver provided a special two part
glue (for $55) that they say is for PVC. When I told them the glue joint
had failed they said “Yes, PVC doesn’t work very well”. Now they tell me!

Have any of you had a positive experience re-gluing one of the weaver
patches to a PVC boat?

The problem will be removing the old adhesive. Any solvent or heat gun that
will remove the glue will probably kill the PVC. Also I doubt if a
polymerized two part glue can be dissolved in any solvent.

Suggestions?

Richard

I have done this a number of times, with over 30,000 miles on this Weaver
tip off the swim step arrangement. My favorite it 5200. It looks awful,
because I can't get it all cleaned up, but it's holding. 10 year old
