I've been following Drink Wisconsinbly on YouTube with Mary Mack for some time now. I love Mary, she's hilarious. I first found out about this channel when she visited the World Of Accordions Museum in Superior. That was a trip for sure. Who knew that the Harrington's Art Building was so nice inside?
Sometime this past winter, she visited Superior for a locals' favorite bloody mary at a unique bar in Superior, Wisconsin. We've known how good this bloody is for years, and now Mary does too.
Her bartender Hannah makes a fun entrance out of the cooler and gets to work making Mary her drink. Mary got to talk to Kevin McCoy, the owner of the Choo Choo, and pick his brain about their signature Bloody Mary.
The bloody mary has olives, a pickle, a celery stick with cheese whiz, shrimp, and bonus bacon. Mary loved the mix, and Kevin points out that it's a tasty bloody mary, but it won't fill you up.
In the series, Mary has been calling the beer that comes with the Bloody Mary a snit, but most people she's encountered have called it a chaser. Fortunately, Kevin and Mary are on the same page. She got pretty excited.
Mary wraps up the review by saying wonderful things about the bar, and how cool it is to be in a train, and she points to the ceiling and munches on her bacon. Next time you're in town Mary Mack, hit me up for a happy hour!
A while ago I did a story on a pretty darn good bloody mary I found north of Duluth this summer. A lot of people commented on how great it was, but many people were quick to point out another place I should try south of Duluth. I happened to be snowmobiling in that area last weekend and made a special stop to give this one a try.
This bloody mary is the loaded version and it features a ton of stuff! It's not cheap, but it's a whole meal in a glass. It's a traditional bloody mary that is a tasty mix, but then it's just crammed full of everything in the kitchen. Make sure you ask for the Ultimate Bloody Mary if you want this one.
It has of course the must-have items; a pickle, olive, and celery. Add in a green pepper slice, carrot slice, cucumber, bacon, salami, pepperoni, and a hard-boiled egg. Then they give you the choice of either ribs or a fingerling sandwich in there. It's also served with a mini can of Coors Light. Did I mention they have award-winning ribs? They've got awards from different publications all over the place.
If you want to try this loaded bloody mary, you'll need to go to Doc's In Sturgeon Lake. It's on I-35 about 50 minutes south of Duluth. Sturgeon Lake is a small town, but there are a lot of people from the region that pack this bar quite often.
The service was good, the drinks were good, and this bloody mary was delicious and the bartender made it super fast! The place was really busy too for a Saturday lunch, but the staff was on top of their game.
People who love their bloody marys really LOVE their bloody marys. And bloody marys can be so versatile with how you make them. There are different levels of spice, you can add so many different toppings to it. And there's one restaurant in Minnesota where their bloody mary topping game is on point.
I, personally, haven't found a bloody that I like. I know, those of you that love a good bloody mary are very sad right now. I also haven't had very many bloody marys in my life and I want to like them so badly solely because I love all of the toppings you can put on it! Because I'm here for the toppings this bloody mary I'm going to tell you about may be the one that makes me a fan.
Road trip! A bar and restaurant with several locations in Minnesota + Wisconsin is featuring its 'Bloody Mary of The Month.' Holy cripes, I need to get there to try this. How could I forgive myself for passing this up?
This bloody mary features bacon-washed grey duck vodka, a smoked bbq bloody mary mix, dry rub on the rim, Nashville hot cheese curds, deep-fried bacon, fried pickles, brown sugar bacon, dry rub chicken wings, and the classic bloody skewer.
There are several other locations for Northern Tap House, one in Lakeville, Minnesota, and another in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I've reached out to them to find out if this bloody mary is available at those locations as well. I just heard back that this is only for the Plymouth location.
Head to this Twin Cities suburb location for this epic bloody mary. I mean this thing has two different types of bacon! That's lunch in a glass right there for sure. Many people commented on the post right away. Something tells me this Saturday is going to be a pretty busy day at the Northern Taphouse.
Also worth checking out is their Black Hearts Party. I love this idea. They want you to join them at the breakup bar to eat and drink your feelings and celebrate the worst day of the year. Hilarious! Maybe you'll find love. Who knows?
