Sheriff meeting attendees,

I want to clarify the agenda for next Mondays meeting. It's my understanding that this meeting is to better explain what is available through the Sheriff's Departments website. I believe Jessica thinks we are having a program developed for the Sheriff's Departments use according to the email that was sent to all bondsmen. The Sheriff has decided to add new features to the website to help us all. Since we probably know more about the features at this time we will be glad to meet with y'all and the Sheriff to discuss what is available. The new features offered by the Sheriff's Office are available to anyone to use as they see fit, as it is public data. I don't want to offend anyone at the meeting so I wanted express my understanding of this agenda.

Now that the Sheriff's new features are online and available to all of us; we are developing software to utilize it in house. Bondsmen normally don't share proprietary information or strategies with their competition such as reviewing each others ads, paperwork, marketing plans, etc... nor should anyone ask to review a proprietary software that we have spent many man hours on and thousands of dollars developing.

It was my understanding from the what I heard that Sheriff Hamilton said (and I wasn't at the meeting) that this was being developed for all the bondsmen equally, thus the cooperation and attention from the County.  I am not sure how ads, marketing plans and strategies are relevant to the public information being provided by the county unless, of course, the public information is used for solicitation purposes, then that is an issue to be addressed and looked at.

Debbie,

You are exactly right. All the new features are available to everyone on the Sheriffs website.

Again, I think the real issue is and should be whether or not this is being used for solitation purposes and that needs to be addressed.
