Dear Parents,

This year's Travilah Lunar New Year celebration will be on Wednesday 2/3/16.  Please put this date on your calendar and reserve time to help out! The main event will happen between 12-2pm.  But we definitely need help in the morning starting 10am for decorating the gym, setting up the place, and clean afterwards!  So the more the merrier!

Attached is a volunteer sign-up sheet for the whole event, including plan meeting, school decoration, craft preparation, and the main event. The link is as below.

This file is our sign-up place for all related activities. We first use this file to sign-up. After the event is finished, we will use this file to register the volunteer hours. As shown for the 1st meeting, the display now is the hours the volunteer spent. For now, in the “main event” column, please put what time you can help, we need more parents between 12-2pm.

Currently the planning committee is planning out all the details, and we will send out detail schedule later.  Please feel free to forward this email to any parents who are willing to help with the event!

Thanks for all your support on this important event!  Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Lisa Lin (6109097430) & Zhen Yuan (3017683425)

Dear Parents,

Hope you all enjoyed snow and are able to get out of the house safely by now.

Our lunar new year celebration is coming quickly, next Wednesday 02/03/16.  We are in need of lot of parents' help on that day, because this year we will have two batch of students, and each batch will come in about 200 students at a time.  We need at least 30-40 parents' help between 12-2pm.  Please sign up at below google doc if you are able to come to help.  This event has been run successfully for many years, we hope to keep this tradition for our kids.  Your help is greatly appreciated.  And we are sure your kids will be so happy to see you there helping.

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for all the parents came to Travilah helping with Lunar New Year Celebration today!  It was a huge success!  Kids had a blast, they were so happy and so excited doing all the crafts, games and listening to the presentation at this rainy day!  A lot of kids and teachers came afterwards giving personal thanks for all the work we've done!  Without all your help and support, this wouldn't be so successful!  We are so proud of Travilah community making this cultural event so successful!  We know Travilah ES is one of the few schools celebrating Chinese new year at school!  Kids all feel lucky they belong to such a great school!  We even had a professional photographer taking pictures for us today.  We will share the pictures with you once they are available!

We'd also like to thank Mrs. Shenk, Mrs. Hairston, Mrs. Rubenstein, Mrs. Boyer and all the teachers for their help and support on this important event.

For parents who volunteered on the event, please check if your volunteer hours are filled correctly in below google doc.  If not, please update them by the end of this Friday, I will then forward it to the chair who collects all the volunteer hours.

Thanks again for all your great support to Travilah ES and your kids!
