BOE选候选人及蒙郡GT班的新动向

转发：各位关心教育的家长们，最近在我们周围发生了很多的关于教育的新动向。BOE要选候选人，蒙郡考虑以后一种族来平均分配GT班的学生人数。一般关心 孩子教育的家长们正在组织蒙郡华裔家长联合会。请您这个星期六一起来关注这个问题。让我们一起为孩子未来出谋划策。会议通知见附件。

Choice Study Community Dialogue Dates:

• April 6, Gaithersburg HS—7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• April 18, John F. Kennedy HS—7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• May 5, Walter Johnson HS—7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

5/5将是最后一次会议，到时会根据学区反馈情况做最后的决定。

蒙郡华裔家长联合会拟在本周六，4/23，下午1点在Churchill HS开会商议有关事项。我因为周六要去中文学校任教无法参加。希望各位积极参与，发出我们的声音！

There is one thing need to bring attention: today BOE hold a meeting at 11:25am for facilities and boundaries decision ( Interim Superintendent's Recommendation Concerning the Tri-cluster Roundtable Group for Gaithersburg, Magruder and Wootton Clusters). Not sure how many people attend this meeting  and results but I thought everyone on this list may interested. (I did not go due to schedule issue).

By the way Wootton hold an interview panel for new principal today, not sure how many Chinese parent got invited. The new principal policy will effect our kids in next 10 years. We have to think about this if your kids will go to Wootton HS. You still has 1 or 2 weeks to speak out what kind principal that you need. I requested that I prefer new principal has doctor degree last week but no response so far. Our last principal has PHD and Churchill HS current principal has PHD and other HS too. I also requested that we need new principal has a plan how to bring Wootton's students to top college accept rate close to Churchill. You can send your message direct to BOE member if you care about your kids future. The new principal appointment has to be approve by BOE members.

Thanks for your input!

I am glad that our Travilah families are well involved in our kids' education. BOE election and Wootton HS principal issues are very important. We should get our voice heard, so take the survey, go to the meetings, it will will make a difference.

Reminder -- Choice Study Parent Advocacy Meeting TONIGHT, May 2, 7 pm at Carver Educational Services Center (MCPS Headquarters) Auditorium, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville.
