I was preparing the 2003 38DSO4 for a trip starting the 21st using the
generator. Hot outside so had air conditioners running and was
vacuming the floor when I noticed it was getting warm in the coach.
The air conditioners were off. I went back to the air control panel
and the 12 volt lights would not come on. The air conditioner control
panel had no power. I reset all the 110 circuit breakers in that
bedroom electric panel.

Checked throughout the coach and had no 110 to appliances. No 12 volt
to anything except slides. 110 outlets had power in the coach.

Did not have time to check out the various 12 volt fuse locations nor
look for any more 110 circuit breakers.

Any ideas? I need to get this fixed ASAP. P.S., I'm an electricity
moron, so please explain any suggestions in detail.

Thanks to all in advance,

Jay

Ok first two things to check are the position of the main power switch at the entry door and what happens if you start the coach.

Hi Bishop,

Can you tell me which color white was used on my 2001 38dso3?
Was it arctic white or polar white and by which manufacturer?
Thanks in advance,

Charlie Kendrick

Bishop,

The main power switch was (is) on. Coach started without a problem.

Do the lights come on when the coach starts?

I believe polar white, but I'm not positive.

Make sure the circuit on the generator didn't trip .

That would be right on the money. If the interior lights come on when you start the coach then yes my first instinct is check the generator breaker. But if the lights didn't come on then I would be more inclined to think main power solenoid.

I assume you mean the GFI outlet in the bathroom sink area. There is
no GFI circuit breaker in my 110 volt panel.

Is the generator breaker the one on the generator itself? Where is
the main power solenoid and how do I check it?

thanks to all,

Jay

Look back in the corner behind the sink it is rather out of the way and hard to find.

There is a breaker on the generator itself next to the start stop switch.

I went back to the RV today and everything was working again. I
presume something overheated and shut down some of the 110 volt
circuits and most of the 12 volt circuits. I didn't understand how
the generator circuit breaker could trip and I could still use the 110
volt vacuum cleaner. Anyway, thanks to all.
