I have a 2001 TS  and the backup camera monitor finally quit. I took it to an electronics place and they tested it and it is junk. Has anyone used a wireless camera set up and is any one brand better than another? Thanks George

George

I have a 2002 40DS02 and the monitor quit on me also. DJ Specialties has
the monitor but it doesn't work on older models, the wiring was changed
and a proper plug cannot be supplied. My mechanic just located a 7"
diagonal monitor, Voyager, that will fit the opening with a little
trimming and can use the existing wiring. It will be installed later
this week or next. I'll let you know how it works out.

We have a 02 TSupreme and our monitor went out and I replaced it two weeks ago with a video monitor from BestBuy for $79.00. I checked last week and they were up to $99.00. The monitor is bigger then the old monitor so I velcroed the back of it and put it right over the top of the old hole and it looks like it belongs there and works great.I think you can use it for movies also. We just drove 2000 miles the last four days and no problems. If you need the name I can get it for you. It's was the only video camera Best Buy had.

George, I've had trouble with the monitor and told myself I'd go to
the wireless unit I saw at Sam's. Looked like a simple fix. Let us
know how it works. I checked some on-line reviews. Looks like a crap
shoot, but hey, better than what we've been using and low money
gamble. Looks like some folks have had trouble with it being
waterproofed. You may want to waterproof it yourself.
Let us know, see ya out there on the road,
Brad

Brad, Yes I read a review on that one and plan on checking it out this
weekend. Still cheaper than installing a new system. Thanks George

George, The name of the video monitor is axion and is about 7" by 5". It comes with yellow video lead and 12 volt male plug in adapter. What I did was buy a 12 volt female from walmart or where ever for $5.00. I  cut the hot and ground wires that were attached to the old monitor and and attached the 12 volt adapter or you can hard wire. I pulled the on- off switch on the dash and let it lay behind the dash and put the video and 12 volt wire  from monitor through that little hole. The axion has a power switch on the front of it, so you don't need the switch on dash anymore. I didn't think it would look good and I would just do it temporarily to get us home but after four days on the road it looks like it belongs there.
