Hello John
I've been trying recall something of our stay in Cadiz, which was
before I started my letters to Travelspain, but all I could turn up
was a postcard of the (as usual) rather basic hostal we stayed in, and
I think you prefer a bit more comfort! The parador I remember as
having a good situation, but a rather undistinguished purpose-built
building.
I believe the cathedral has been recently restored (or this may be
ongoing), but I hope they haven't done anything to the acoustics of
the crypt, which was one of the spookiest places I've been in, a
totally unexpected experience which I've never forgotten.
It doesn't take long to explore the old town, of course, and a bracing
walk round the outer sea wall sets one up for a meal in any one of the
restaurants in the streets running down the centre of the town.
OH Yes, I remember now that we were there for Los Reyes, one of the
best I have seen.
Mmmmmm......... Perhaps we can go back next month. Not much
planning goes on here!
¡Salud!
