Hi Chuck,

As Sandy has already mentioned, you can purchase very cheap pre-paid mobile phones in Spain and use them ro receive and make calls. Or, if you have an unlocked phone, you can bring that and just purchase the SIM card, but make sure you know it's unlocked beforehand (try it out with different providers)

You could also speak to your current provider to see if they have a cheap roaming package for Spain.

Whatever you do, it's probably best to limit calls to/from the States as much as possible, because any option is going to bit a bit costly. As Sandy also said, Skype and similar products are usually a good substitute for using a phone.
