I am off to Spain on the 25th October for ten days. Does anyone have any recommendation as to the best places to go north Spain for hiking, beaches and photography? Thanks.

If you are anywhere near the Ordesa Gorge (nearest place is Torla), the walk from the car park to the horse’s tail waterfall is probably the favourite walk I have done in my life. But it’s miles from anywhere.

I was in the Priorat (inland from Tarragona) a few years ago.  I thought it was wonderful for hiking.  See http://www.visitpriorat.com/eng/index.php?seccio=comvisitar&subsec=quefer&subsec2=senderisme

A resurrection!  The first post here for over two years.  Are you still around, Roger?

Anyway, to answer the OP's query, I hiked up the Cares Gorge a few years ago - unmissable, but you have to  have a head for heights.  My account here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/travelspain/wMOm17k3wmo

Hope to get back to Spain soon.

That's what I thought, Mac. It's a nice surprise to see posts from this group again.

Yep, living in Portugal now, and have just opened a 9-room guesthouse (in Spain it would be a "hostal") in Lisbon, so anybody coming this way is welome to get in touch! :-)

We have had a few posts to the group over the last few months, but they've all turned out to be spam, and I was worried about this one too - let's see if there's a follow up. Hope there is, it would be great to hear all your travel stories, tips and questions again!

Roger.

I went to Vall De Núria few years ago.  Very beautiful, there is train from Barcelona heading north to go to this place.
