I would like to book a tour with a travel company that is already in Spain. Normally I would book here in Australia. and the Australian Company then brokers a local travel company in the country I travel in. Hence I am trying to book directly with a company in Spain. Can anyone help me.

Hi Evelyn
What sort of tour are you interested in?

Hi Evelyn,

Check out Viator (who are actually an Australian company, I believe):

Local companies list their tours on Viator, who charge a commission for any booking made, but this is taken from the tour company, not the client, so prices *shouldn't* be more expensive.

Roger.

Whatever tour companies you are considering, look for reviews on "Travel Advisor" and maybe some other sites.  We wanted to do some day trips from Madrid, and did not find anything that attractive either because of price or because the trip itself was so packaged, or the reviews just didn't excite us.  Eventually we decided to take a chance and just do it ourselves.  We used the train system, and just tried to stumble on interesting places to eat.  And of course we had a guide book to direct us to the sites.  Logistically it was much simpler than we expected, and I think we had quite an interesting time.  The Spanish people we encountered were very happy to give us directions and advice of all kinds.  Sorry I don't have the answer you would really like.  Linda

Dear Evelyn,

It would be better if you first chalk out what sort of trip you are looking at. If you need some good adventurous stuff in your itinerary the good local company are the one's to be contacted without a doubt. However, what sort of destinations are you looking at?
